Midnight is almost here. Xal’atath has united the warring factions of the Void, unleashing a ravenous army that threatens to consume all of Azeroth. Go deeper into the heart of her story.
Will watch it later. maybe tomorrow.
I loved 2D “art” as animated. Well done!
Xalatath beats up (literal) faceless nobodies on a generic desert not-Azeroth world.
Blizzard’s art department never disappoints, but I feel zero investment in this one. Xalatath is such an unreliable narrator, we can’t even say we’re learning any new lore about her goals/backstory because she’s just as likely saying whatever it takes to persuade Salhadaar.
The plot thickens! Midnight can’t come soon enough!
I loved the animation. This is the kind of story I like to see in Warcraft as a main storyline. I don’t mind that she has Marvel vibes.
Yeah, approved; was good. Survival’s where it’s at, true that.
Nothing screams ‘Disneyfied WoW’ like watching a child get disintegrated by the Void
Not enough tarantino.
…I enjoyed that ![]()
Better art style than we’ve had recently.
Unfortunately, both of these characters in this cinematic are dull. Would rather make cinematics for decent characters.
Oo loved it. Kinda already knew the “truth” though.
And her survival thing is probably just eradicating the Titans or something.
worst thing they could do would be a full lore reveal at these pre-expansion hype cinematics, let the lore happen in the game properly after a good build up not in a 4 minute video, that’s what’s called lore dump, we don’t want that.
The video was good, not over the top but pretty good, the “tone” is set for midnight’s narrative and we are given a glimpse of how Xal’atath works behind the scenes.. well designed for a 4-minute animated cinematic.
I love how people are calling it disney when you literally see a childs face melting off whle shes still alive then proceeds to get disenchanted by the void alongside the nexus king breaking open a void creatures jaw like a haribo wrapper.
You can’t please everyone it seems, Definitely got some diablo vibes from this and it was nice and gritty and dark, 10/10 in my opinion.
Well i’ll give credit where credits due. Definitely needed to see this. more stuff like this with some more depth and stuff in the rest of the game would be nice ![]()
Also is Xala’that’s and Azhara’s voice actor the same person from the Azhara Warbringer? Just thought they sounded abit similar. Azhara’s warbringer was my favorite to this day. Not gonna lie.
i say we help her defeat the Light, its obvious they scorched her planet.
Maybe the Titans destroyed her world because it was going to be consumed by the Void? IIRC the Titans destroyed a bunch of world before arriving to Azeroth ![]()
Edit: Assuming she’s telling the truth and she was mortal once.
Yep thats propably becouse game doesnt actualy match Blizzard cinematics at all. Both gameplay and feel of the game are completly disconected from cinematics like this one.
Speaking of depth.. Xala is saying that ‘‘we are the same’’ and that her and the Etherals are the same kind.. Maybe im taking things a little to literal here but is it possible. She was a citizen of the Etheral’s homeworld once as well when she was mortal?
Also that singing that starts at 1:40 into it <.< yeah I am gonna need a soundtrack release of this asap
I am replaying it constantly
yea, would be something. i was actually thinking just that the other hour when i saw this:
why can’t we pick a side?
what if it was like this, for a story arch: There was a winning and losing side, and those sides was decided during the expansion span?
various efforts would weigh in and in the end someone would have won, a side that is.
and… that would produce a story result then? and that story result would be what the writers would work with next up?
yea, i know… never in a million years. almost stupid to even say something like that. but it would be very cool if we decided some things about what happens next.
