Population Density Adjustments Incoming - 13 February

Over the last couple of days, we’ve seen a lot of feedback from players that in many cases, there are too many others nearby when you’re questing or doing gathering professions in the open world.

Today, we’ve developed some configuration changes that should hopefully reduce the congestion while retaining the feeling that the world is still well-populated. Those changes will go live during our currently scheduled realm restarts in a few hours.

We’ll continue to keep a close eye on this going forward, and we’ll adjust things further if necessary.

Thank you!

Thank you. It has been a problem for months if not years, but recently it was simply unbearable

Maybe the fixed bug where NPC had zero armor?

Not sure if this was already rolled out on thunderstrike (eu) but if it was it might have caused a problem with the ring of blood quest. Currently multiple groups are able to accept a RoB quest and it seems random which mob will be spawned.
Additionally even if the correct mob is spawned not everyone in the group seems to get the kill. We just had to redo several quests 2-3 times, because only 2 out of 5 got the quest done in the first go. Didn’t hear about these problems before.
Please look into it.

Thanks for finally speaking with us. Maybe we are going in a better direction now.

There was a bug where NPC’s had no armor.

Probably fixed now so you will do less dmg since mobs will have protection again.

Hundreds of MMO’s out there that see less than 2000 daily logins.. and then there’s WoW that complain about ”There is too many players”

People should just be happy the gsme thry choose to play is doing well.

Tell us exactly what you are doing, this sounds like it will make the world less fun.

It’s actually better, not the ususal lag when vendoring, looting, crafting, or visiting AH. There’s still at least four times as many players everywhere than what I’d like - this means the usual number.

Why would you find a laggy world fun?

This has nothing to do with lag.

Then what, As I say lag is almost gone, overpopulation no so.

Say what you think instad of acting the mysterious tall dark stranger

Hudreds of people in Africa are starving. I guess that means I cannot complain when I am force fed 1 kg of chocolate?

Too little is bad, too many is just as bad. This is such an elementary concept that even a 5yo could understand it. Why do you always need to explain the simplest things to forum people?

Since you did the melee “fixes” there are no tanks anymore. The only tanks that exists are paladins and you can’t do certain instances with them because they get one shot even through full pre bis (shattered halls heroics for example or 2nd boss of bloodfurnace or even pandemonius). And even if you do find a tank, good luck trying to play the dungeon without a mage. Last time around it was NOT this bad AT ALL. The tuning seems completely and utterly wrong and the numbers melee classes do after the armor changes do not look like the numbers they where doing last time around either. I hope you realize you have done nothing but destroy motivation for people who don’t want to wait 40+ minutes for a tank just for the guy to be one shot 3 times by the first mob in the dungeon and leave. And don’t give me the BS about “it was like this last time” I see pre bis full defense gear paladins 1400+ gs get 3 tapped by SINGLE ELITES IN DUNGEONS. Fix the game, this is unplayable.

There is no change in congestion. Same as before.
Players everywhere, everything is dead, and you have to camp and tag mobs within a second or it is gone. Not an enjoyable experience.
