Warband Bank Enabled with Maintenance - 18 February

With a hotfix that we will implement with scheduled weekly maintenance today, we will restore access to the Warband Bank to all players in this region. The underlying issue has been resolved, and no changes were made to the Warband Bank or its contents.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding.

Today, we’ve temporarily disabled the Warband Bank function while we investigate and fix an issue.

We’ll work to get the Warband Bank back up and running as soon as possible.

Well, at least Blizzard confirmed it and there’s no guessing, that’s how it should always be.

Some people worry, as they remember what happened to the Guild Banks at the beginning of TWW…

It was a huge mess, I lost stuff worth maybe millions, including expensive parts for the garrison auction, and got a few stacks of worthless herbs from DF as compensation… I hope they learned their lesson from this embarrassment.

I have a lot of gold stored in warband bank. I have many alts and I stuff their gold into warband bank for easy token buying or something expensive. Thats my gold pool.

I will lose probably nearly million gold, if something happens to it.

hope it won’t.

All my gold also in warband bank :grimacing:

I had 400k in mine and took it out to buy a wow token today.

Timed that well!

That’s very careless, you should split it up to alts

Hope they fix it in the next couple days and also that nothing is lost. Thankfully I only have 50k in there atm but I’d be gutted to lose it.

The price of tokens always dropped significantly at the beginning of the expansion pack, so I would wait and see if that happens again this time.

How is it careless to have gold in bank lol. If blizz loses it they are suppose to replace it.

Aint nobody going to stop using bank for some slight chance that blizz would one day disable it for day or two.

It is extremely unlikely that this problem is related to what happened to Guild Banks two years ago. Remember, one day, items simply disappeared randomly from some Guild Banks, some were emptied, others decimated, others not even touched. Personally, I lost one and a half tabs from one of mine, and the others were intact. Why? No one knows. The bug was all the more severe because Blizzard had no backup, and it was impossible to repair anything. I won’t even dwell on the fact that they neither acknowledged their mistake nor compensated anyone.
Tonight, we are simply dealing with a temporary, voluntary deactivation of the service; there is no indication that our data is at risk of being lost. The most likely scenario is that an exploit bug has been detected and that a hotfix will be deployed in the coming hours.

That said, Blizzard communicates poorly and provides poor customer service by informing its customers at the last minute, and not even in-game.

Yeah i agree, but how small indie company like blizzard, how it could notify us in game without breaking the game?
I know some real game industry has professional coders.

Deja vu from The War Within launch

“If it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it.”

Hey Blizzard, since you’re playing around with the warbank, add one or two slots… Every material, reagent, component, and even some finished products have three qualities, so everything is multiplied by three. We have 14 professions, each of which needs something different, not to mention lumber and materials from previous expansions that are used to craft decorations. If someone has alts and all professions, what we have today is absolutely not enough.

Today I put half of my Marks of Honor in the bank thinking my alts can use it  Is there no way to give notice before you do this? I am locked out of my things
This makes it far more unreliable to me and honestly… I might still use it for gear but I’m not dropping my currencies in this black hole anymore

I just logged on after failing to sleep. I could see the warbank on one char but not access it. Logged to a different char and I can see the bank and use it. So naturally I’ve emptied it of everything that I care about. But it seems to have some functionality at least. Nothing is missing.
