I had a look at the roundup and… Yep… Just what I expected to see.

Only one I’d kinda get behind is Preach, the other ones… They’re a literal “Who?”

WoWHead had one of a Naga’s mini city, looked amazing.

I didn’t know you could get boosted in housing  But since Annie is involved I’m sure theres a way.

Curious to see if this will turn into a popularity contest or an actual fair vote…

Would much rather see actual homes from random players though.

That certainly would be more “Community-driven”, especially since they want to push for this whole “Community activity” angle with housing.

But alas. A random player is a wild card. Unrefined. Why risk bringing on John the white collar guy who could be broadcasting with a cheap camera inside their bedroom, when you could bring on a fine-pressed content creator with a studio and all that jazz instead?
And let’s not mention that there’d be money involved for both parties, which is another incentive to not bring on John

I’m only interested in Johns ingame house, he doesn’t need to stream or anything so no worries about what anyone looks like or what their setup is like.

They could’ve had people submit their houses via screenshots or something and even if content “creators” had to be involved have them do the house tours and have people vote on what their favourite one was.

Then crown a winner, give them a nice piece of unique decor as a prize or something and in a few weeks do another one.

i’m really not a fan of content creators, or the pretense that the majority of the community even watches them in the first place

in other industries the incestuous relationship between companies, content creators and the talent agencies that puppet them would be considered a major, inappropriate conflict of interests

i want to see creations from regular players, to see them rewarded

especially when there’s a lot of reason to doubt the supposed achievements of many content creators, who have been caught having friends do a lot of the work for them on more than one occasion

Fair enough, I suppose. Though I still get the impression they’d want to try and make a big spectacle out of it rather than make it this bi-weekly or monthly activity to get people involved, which is why you have this instead.

To put it in more internet terms: Who do you think will get more exagerrated soyface reactions? John’s house who does the most practical thing involving a theme, or some content creator who’s entire purpose in life is to make a spectacle rather than something functional?

Eh, I’d be kind of interested in watching some random guy being his authentic self, assuming he does have any genuine interests that would make him interesting, or do a presentation that’s kind of eye-catching
For a while I watched someone who was really into books and literature and had this sort of awkward silent personality about him that made him kind of endearing. The most “Regular guy” you can probably think of.

Then he stopped and delisted his content. I guess he was tired of the Youtube Grind.

What? Regular players be rewarded for doing something interesting? Bah! They are mere mortals with no following, who would care to see them? Especially since they hold no mind control influence (Some people seem to legit think Youtubers have that power) to bring people to buy Battlenet products and microtransactions!

I’m more curious as to how those people get big in the first place.

They’re just so… Fake. The kind that makes you feel kind of uneasy when you watch their content and see them smiling, kinda makes you feel uneasy. Kinda like how Mr. Beast with his big smile looks unnatural.

She is boosted and uses bots to boost her numbers on Twitch its about time that blizzard dumped her and used other content makers there are plenty about that deserve it more then she does.

Huh. I was expecting actual bog standard players not streamers. I just lost all interest.
