Additional Unholy Tuning and Bugfixes Coming Soon

With today’s tuning pass, it’s clear that Unholy performance dropped further than intended. Today, we’re working on a series of adjustments and bugfixes for the spec.

This includes reverting a portion of the baseline aura nerf and also adjusting individual abilities to increase damage a bit more outside of burst windows. We’ve also identified a several bugs that had a negative impact on tuning, so today’s changes will include fixes for those. We’ll post a full, final list of today’s further changes once we’re ready to apply them to the game.

After we’re done today, we expect Unholy to be in a better spot overall, with the sum of all changes putting UDKs in a much more reasonable space that makes them competitive in raiding and mythic dungeons.

Is there any chance, that I can not apply pestilence at all, while my guildie with the same talent and rotaion manages to do so? Might be a bug? I can’t be this stupid, has to be a bug. His dps meter says it dealt 1000k dmg, while I don’t have any pestilence dmg at all, not even a little one. I pressed everything i could.

Blizzard, any chance you can rework our first part of Apex talent in to a Lich which empowers our plagues, and undeads while it’s out.

it would be so much better if we had a Lich, which would do the following.

  1. Dread Plague morphs in to Ebon Plague. Ebon Plague deals it’s damage twice as fast.
  2. Wandering Plague replaces Virulent Plague. Wandering Plague causes your WP to deal splash damage to all targets effected by WP, this does not deal it’s damage faster.
  3. While the Lich is active, all Lesser Ghouls raised from Sudden Doom/Scourge Strike are buffed with Unholy Frenzy, increasing attack speed by X amount.
  4. Lich cast Deathchill bolt, this is treated the same as a Magus of the Dead spell attacks.
  5. Shadowfissure, every 8 seconds, the Lich will drop a Shadowfissure under the enemy target, if the target is hit, raise 1 Magus of the Dead, this can only raise 1 and not any more regardless of how many it hit.
  6. Raising Lesser Ghouls and Putrefy extends the Lich’s duration.

Also rework Summon Gargoyle pls.

Your really thought for even a second that nerfing Unh by 20% would be a good idea? :rofl: We’re not farming +20 keys right now with full Mythic 6/6 BiS gear and pulling 50+ mobs per pull, so maybe we’re just not useful…

Great, but why don’t you read our opinions?

If you did, you wouldn’t have to do the same thing twice = twice as much work xD

Also please balance the diseases for both San’layn and Rider!
Unholy isn’t just about pets and cooldowns.

Right now, the good Blood DK is eating us up. Invite Blood DK to Alghet’ar Academy and make a big pull xD

It doesn’t look bad, but time will tell.
It’s amazing how quickly the team reacted – players, remember that.
If they want to, they can do something now, not next week, not next month, not in the next patch, but now.

I’ll check soon if Scoruge Strike still has issues with plague spread.

Putrefy, on the other hand, has been improved but still doesn’t behave entirely correctly.

I’ve requested many times that Putrefy summon the ghoul near the target, rather than near the DK, who then has to dash to the target. This is a design flaw that looks bad (animation) and causes (or caused) the Putrefy ghoul to miss the target.
However, the animation for summoning the Magus from Reanimation thanks to Putrefy is great. I love it.

Based on how Putrefy currently works, I don’t understand why it simply doesn’t have an animation for throwing a corpse, but instead summons a ghoul, which dies immediately.
What causes this? I can aim Putrefy at birds and other flying mobs, but Putrefy will never hit them.
And if it misses, it won’t infect the target with plagues either.

There are many other design flaws, but the most important one I’d like to point out right now is the problem with summoning ghouls with Scourge Strike.
I’m simply inundated with stacks of Lesser Ghouls during dungeons.
I don’t even have time to use up all my stacks of Lesser Ghouls.

Solution:
Make Scourge Strike consume 2 stacks of Lesser Ghouls,
or
Make it so that we can only have a maximum of 4 stacks of Lesser Ghouls, and as compensation, buff them twice,
or
Make Festering Strike always summon 3 Lesser Ghouls and Scourge Strike always summon 1 (then no stacks are needed). Then you’ll also keep something important in the rotation for Festering Strike (but nobody likes that anyway).
or
Make Soul Reaper consume all of his Lesser Ghoul stacks (since you took away his attribute of consuming Putrefy stacks in the PTR version).
but
that still doesn’t solve the problem of not having time to use Scoruge Strike…

PS. Finally, Soul Reaper does reasonable damage.

Its interesting that the nerf that made unholy performance drop further than intended, was fully applied to pvp.

Yet none of the hotfixes are applied to pvp.

Is this bad work by the developers, scamming pvp dk players for their money?

Wrong .these are applied to pvp .

All minion damage increased by 8%.

Melee damage increased by 30%

Try to read better next time

and what should we do with 30% meele dmg (auto attack) while our best chance in pvp against meeles is to keep them chained and fight them from a distance ? asking for my fellow pvp dks

in PVP is Boring and Unhealthy for the balance of the spec to have Holy pala to Dispell every one sec ur Dread Plague and spend gcd to aply and next second are dispell again. PvP talent Life and Death feels doing 0 damge when dispelled so and they dont care.

should be more tuning and fixes coming soon, and also some nerfs for the classes that almost kill everything with 3 gcds, class literally fell behind almost everything but those who are behind has atleast a spec better than dk, even 7times r1 dk started to play ret paladin instead, i think that should indicate how bad it is now, and what you bring us with the 25th of march tuning ? literally nothing and you are planning to nerf it to the ground with 12.0.5 abom, march of madness and lesser ghoul nerfs, on the other hand nothing else gets boosted dots are literally hit 1k dps coils are weak, what the class will left with? we gonna get a box of tissue atleast so we can wipe our wet eyes ?

honestly should not bother with it at all our diseases currently are nothing more then a cosmetic in PvP, a bad joke
