Two New Achievements Coming to Mythic+

Greetings!

With the release of patch 12.0.5, we’re introducing two new achievements for players pushing the upper limits of Mythic+: Keystone Myth and Umbral Champion: Midnight Season One.

If you’ve already completed the existing milestones and are looking for additional goals to pursue, Keystone Myth and Umbral Champion are intended to offer that next step.

Keystone Myth

Upon reaching 3400 Mythic+ rating, players will earn a Timelost Saddle (earned once per warband per season). This item can be brought to Lindormi in Silvermoon or the Timeways, where it can be exchanged for a mount of your choice from a curated selection. This includes Keystone Master and Keystone Legend mounts from previous seasons, as well as all new mounts being added to the pool.

We want to give dedicated Mythic+ players something that continues to feel rewarding over time, while also creating a path to revisit some older rewards you may have missed along the way.

Keystone Myth will launch with a 3400 rating requirement, but we do not expect that threshold to remain fixed forever. Mythic+ evolves from season to season, and we want this achievement to continue to represent a similar level of difficulty and prestige each time. Because of that, we may adjust the rating requirement in future seasons.

Umbral Champion

With the close of Midnight Season One, players in the top 1% of Mythic+ rating will qualify for a new achievement, Umbral Champion, and be awarded a new exclusive mount.

We’re looking forward to seeing how far you can push your keystones!

maybe there’s hope for the challenge mode items to return as well in the future?

Will Umbral Champion rewards be available from Timelost Saddle from future season?

What’s the point of Timelost Saddle if I didn’t miss any M+ mount yet?

Tbh I would be very happy if it stayed around 3.4k because this season’s difficulty curve suits me very well.

I’m jumping into 3-4x more keys than I usually would, having a go on specs I don’t normally play in 10s, and it’s still going ok and my characters will slowly collect myth track gear over the space of 4-5 months.

Never played the game so much! :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

So basically more goodies for people with friends who DO PUSH m+ and for others who play specs blizzard likes with lust or other utility. Cool, cool.

Well this is pretty awful. So unimpressed.

Last thing we needed is more rewards for the top percent only. Especially a mount.

That’s complete rubbish. Why do the 3400ers get the Saddle and not the KSM people? Don’t ‘force’ the new mount on KSM guys, and give us the choice to get the new seasonal mount or choose from seasons past! How hard is it? There’s still time to rectify this, Blizz. Also, if possible, do the same for KSC titles. It should be possible considering that title vendor during the Anniversary is a thing. Same goes for Vicious Saddles, of course.

A really cool frickin idea, Love this as someone who got back into m+ and hit 3k this gives me more reason to push now.

Seems like a reaction to the fact that the Season is supposedly quite easy this time.
If it’s easy, then players complete their goals for the Season quickly.
If they complete them quickly, then they stop playing the game quickly.
So Blizzard introduces new goals and new rewards to keep players playing for longer. Do more! Push more! Play more! Subscribe longer!
Seems fine to me though. I mean, if players ultimately enjoy the gameplay, then it’s good to have goals and rewards to pursue. Even new ones.

Stepping in to say this isn’t everyone!

My goals include getting as much myth gear as possible, on lots of characters.

Since I won’t get more than 1 piece of myth/week from the vault, the only effect that the game being easy has is to… let me play more characters, in more roles. Which is fun to me.

Maybe I will get 3400 this season, maybe not. I’ve had 3k a couple of times before. Depends if I care enough to try, as much as anything. The more fun I’ve had, the more I’ve been playing 20+ hours/week because the basic level of the game is accessible, the more likely I will pick 1 character to specialise in and go for it :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

The “WoW is too easy” crowd have, frankly, held sway for long enough. I’m having fun, and I’d like them to let me.

I think it is pretty fair, considering how easy Mythic+ is this season.

Like, +10s are literally a cakewalk for me already. It used to be harder to do last season.

I rather have the tp percent players get an exclusive mount than having to regularly deal with a difficulty that doesn’t feel fun for gearing.

I’m confused, Blizz was adamant they wont bring back time sensitive achievments and/or rewards; the likes of mage tower rewards, druid skins etc during legion remix

So why are they bringing back KSM and KSH mounts that were also time limited events through ‘Keystone Myth’ ?

Will this be the norm each season ? Or this one exclusively. I mean i will probably get this but i rather not go past 3k rio since i don’t like pushing.

I got 3k in the begining of the second reset after i got 4p and i was done.

I don’t feel motivated and incentivised to push but now i feel forced since i have 1300 mounts…. This is not what i needed

I think Blizzard have some internal numbers that show that a portion of their playerbase show up for each Season, play until they complete their Seasonal goals, and then leave again until the next Season comes around.
Blizzard wants to keep those players around for more than a month, so they’re adding some extra Seasonal goals to keep them occupied for longer.
I think that’s the simple answer to this, given that people seem to be blasting through the Season relatively quickly.

On a broader level I think Blizzard aims for a game experience that is very frictionless. It’s not intended to be either easy or hard – it’s intended to be a smooth progression. This time it’s arguably just too fast. That’s really the only issue on Blizzard’s end. It doesn’t really matter if it’s too easy because – as we can see – they can just add more progression steps to it.
I also don’t think players care if the game is too easy. They care if they can’t keep progressing and can’t find more rewards to earn. After all, let’s be real, players are likely here more for the dopamine than for the challenge.

More fomo for collectors good stuff

Okay, but first start by fixing Arms Warrior so I can actually get invited and not be under tank in DPS in single target.

Stupid change imo. Then remove the limited availability of it all instead. It’s okay if people don’t have everything, I am not fan of this in the slightest.

If you do this just start bringing back scarablord mounts etc. Even if I don’t like the idea of it be consistent, either do it for everything or nothing. Not this 50/50 stuff.
