Unholy Death Knight Festering Scythe Change

We have recently sent out a large hotfix to address the issues for Unholy that came with the 12.0.5 update. Part of this change was updating Festering Scythe to be a buff on the player that increases their disease tick rate instead of a debuff on the target. The underlying issue here was proving to be problematic for a number of reasons and we felt like this would be the safest approach for now.

We will continue to monitor any potential issues and we appreciate the patience and understanding.

Hey Blizzard how about replacing Ancient Power for March of Madness which we had before the update.

Make it do something along the lines of increasing the duration by 1 second per talent point of our Lesser Ghouls raised from Scourge Strike/Sudden Doom, also increase the damage they deal by 5-10% and increase movement speed and attack range of our ranged undeads.

And pls, swap Transfusion from San’layn and Hungering Thirst from rider, and make Darion Mograin extend our undeads duration instead of extending our plagues.

a large hotfix went out but we are not gonna tell you the details, it is just large, so we working, see we fixing large issues. oh we also test those things so they never happen again.

Great, now revert the marksman hunter changes so you dont gut a class middle of prog.

When will the in-game tooltip be changed?
It’s currently misleading.
Furthermore, I’ll repeat myself 100 times: if you had listened to me in Alpha and Beta, Festering Scythe would have dealt massive AoE damage from Plagues, not buffed Plagues… and there wouldn’t have been a problem.
This talent should simply be as strong as the previous Festering Scythe from TWW.

Everyone was only looking at Mograine and his DnD, and now everyone’s looking at Commander of the Dead, but no one’s checking further.

The following needs to be fixed/ changed:

  • Scourge Strike applies Virulent Plague to one target and each subsequent target it hits, and that’s consistent with the tooltip, but what about the Plague’s spread to other targets?
    If Scourge Strike is limited to applying Virulent Plague to the target it hits, why is there information about spreads? Spreading doesn’t currently work. It applies to the target Scourge Strike hits.
    Either fix this, or change it so that Scourge Strike applies Virulent Plague like Outbreak does and we will immediately be able to remove Outberak from the skill bar.
  • Check if auras for pets are assigned correctly, as my Main Ghoul has a visible buff from the Blood Bond talent, even though I don’t have that talent active. I also suggest checking out the Unholy Armaments talent, which may not increase pet damage. If it were visible as an aura, like the Grave Mastery talent in the pet buffs section, it would be obvious to me. But it’s not, and it seems Lesser Ghouls deal less damage. I still need to check the logs, as I’m basing my opinion on what I see in-game.

The macro doesn’t work properly: when Army of the Dead is on cooldown, Dark Transformation in the macro doesn’t get cast

yeah it seems half the time it buggs out and don’t use both of them when macroed,

After testing the recent bug fixes UH DK is still not doing the dps it was doing before this patch update, there seems to still be some bugs preventing us from dealing our previous damage plus the buffs that was intended for our spec this patch, i think riders might be still bugged.

Yeap still doesn´t work. Just so broken patch it is crazy. Good that the didn´t forget to buff Devourer again tho :smiley: …

Unholy DK in pvp is unplayable.

i just saw a guy who is 15X r1 and he just got tired playing with unholy and ended his stream

15% more than before patch or 15% after the patch that caused -30–40% damage, cuz in pvp and on the pvp dummy i still deal less with 10-20%, but obviously it is better after the bugfixes, but still shamefully low, and ofc in arenas the scoreboard says i dealt a good amount of dmg, but enemies’ hp bar forget to move even in perfectly built up burst windows.

our aoe damage is certainly stronger now than what it was in previous patch, but our single target is still weaker than what it was, it has to be something that is causing our single target dps to still be lower than what it was.

i still suspect rider might be bugged, but there might be something else at play which makes UH’s single target to be weaker.
