Quality-of-Life Improvements Coming in Curse of Ula'tek

Since the 12.0.5 content update, we’ve been building on your feedback with targeted improvements aimed at enhancing the play experience. Recent hotfixes along with Midnight: Revelations changes have already addressed some issues with rewards, looting, quest experience, and durability loss. More updates are planned in the Curse of Ula’tek content update, including account-wide user interface settings, Auction House improvements, a one-time Profession Knowledge reset, and fixes for common combat and travel issues.

There is still one thing that needs to be removed.

Layers and shards. For real blizzard , going out in the open world can sometimes feel like playing a SINGLE player game. Just remove these layers and shards come on for god sake. Your playerbase is going down because of that problem.

Fix. Shield. Distance.

Add a slider already in transmog window and let me do it myself.

Could you maybe do something about raid, delve and dungeon performance, such as turning outdoor zones which are used as an instance into an actual sandbox rather than being forced to look at the massive open world in the background which taking up unnecessary resources?

What about raid spell filtering? Something you’ve introduced more than a year ago is still not working as expected after two supposed hotfixes you bragged about.

Add more innkeepers to Silvermoon, preferably on the outer edges of the city where traffic is low.

No flying is the single biggest anti-Quality-of-Life measure you could possibly implement. Anything else you add—any other “improvement”—wouldn’t even begin to compensate for this catastrophic decision. This isn’t subjective; it’s a fundamental degradation of player experience that ION and his team seem incapable of understanding.

Let’s talk about the so-called repair bill reduction. It doesn’t actually reduce overall costs at all. Why? Because when you die—and you will die—it STILL charges you 200G per death. So where exactly is the “reduction”? This is classic Ion math: present a superficial change that looks good on paper but fails utterly in practice. The man loves his misleading metrics.

The “faster leveling” system is a joke wrapped in a lie. It only works once per week for alts, not in any repeatable, non-time-gated fashion. And that’s assuming there are enough people participating AND you have the currency to actually do them. The conditions attached to this “improvement” render it nearly useless for anyone who isn’t playing exactly according to Ion’s prescribed schedule.

This phrase only makes sense IF YOU ARE ACTUALLY IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. When you’re heading toward a cliff, “small steps” are still steps toward disaster. ION keeps claiming progress while the game continues its decline.

WHAT YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY DO

1. Flying: Make It a Free Choice

Don’t make non-flying mandatory. Period. End of discussion. Give players the freedom to choose how they want to experience the content. The fight between flying and non-flying was OVER long ago—ION LOST. Accept it and move on.

2. Repair Bills: Real Reduction

Implement an 80% repair bill reduction with a hard cap that remains fixed regardless of item level increases or future changes. If total elimination isn’t your preference (though it should be), at least make the reduction MEANINGFUL and PERMANENT.

3. Leveling: Kill the Outdated Concept

Reduce the overall leveling effort dramatically. Leveling is an outdated concept in retail WoW. It’s a tedious barrier to actual content, not an engaging experience. Yet Ion and his team cling to it like a security blanket.

4. Consistency Over “Bite-Sized QoL”

Start introducing consistency across ALL content by fixing legacy issues FIRST. Stop with the bite-sized “QoL” changes that pretend you’re listening, only to return to your old bad habits after one expansion—or worse, after one patch or two. Players see through this cycle, even if ION doesn’t.

5. Borrowed Powers: The Fight Is Over

Borrowed Powers. This fight WAS OVER long ago. ION LOST. Yet here we are again. Stop recycling failed systems.

6. Systems on Top of Systems

System on top of systems. This fight WAS OVER long ago. ION LOST. Simplify. Streamline. Players want depth, not complexity for complexity’s sake.

7. Currency Overload

Currency Overload. A legacy issue that desperately needs fixing. How many different types of currency do players need to track? This isn’t engaging—it’s exhausting.

8. Visual Clarity

Clear telegraphs and correct color choices to avoid eye fatigue from same/similar colors overlayed in instanced content. Your team mentioned this multiple times in Dragonflight and The War Within, YET IT HAS ALREADY RETURNED IN MIDNIGHT SEASON 1. How many times must ION’s team acknowledge a problem and then immediately recreate it?

The Bottom Line: Stop pretending you’re listening. Start actually listening. The evidence of your failures is overwhelming. The fight over these fundamental issues was settled. ION LOST. Accept defeat and build a better game.

QoL news is always my favorite news and there are some really nice changes here

I just have to wonder, why did this take so long “Adding account-wide auto-loot settings to make it easier to keep preferred setup options consistent across characters.” ^^

Will be able to get rid of a couple of addons :dracthyr_yay_animated:

Speaking of useful things, find a way on how to seamlessly integrate hotfix notes into the game. It would be nice having them on character selection screen. There is so much unused space in the left column. Expandable dropdown menu ofc, because the character list already tends to hide half of the warband display depending on UI scale setting.

Throw them away .they are dangerous :dracthyr_uwu:

That loss of control movement is shockingly important in my opinion. I always have it disabled because I want to be able to see what’s hitting me and what they’re doing, and having a giant fat icon right over my character, where the enemy also is, is bad.

So thanks for that!

Nobody will take seriously that AI spam.
