If you wanted a real race, host it on a tournament realm and give them all the same gear.

I must be out of the loop on this one, do you mean corruption through RMT? In which case I agree it still probably plays a huge part and blizz should take a way harsher stance on it (and bots) and I don’t like tribalism in sports/e-sports either.
I don’t see it as a source of toxicity though, the fans who act like they’re clinically insane around any sport/e-sport would probably be toxic without the sport aspect anyway.
I don’t even play end-game and I like watching the top guilds grinding it out, can’t really explain why.
RWF should happen with tournament rules though, separate from the main game kind of like the old challenge modes.

It’s kind of a joke.
Imagine you have a tournament and the first one to reach a certain goal wins.
Then you’re told that your team can only start a day later than the team you’re competing against.
Bro, what.
I guess it could benefit from a time-trial setting, fastest from launch respectively per region.
But the people who dedicate most of their time/year to it don’t seem disheartened by it, so I trust their judgement.
Nothing to do with the RWF though, that’s just blizzard being obtuse.
The best laugh is how Blizzard keep saying “oh we don’t actually endorse it…”
No. Of course not. You just “advertise” it at every single opportunity…
That’s how they can get away with giving the NA teams a day’s advantage and everyone seems to be “yeah that’s fair enough, Blizz has nothing to do with it.”
Hardly a fight when they start a lot of hours in front and already have there class buffs.
