Answer the call of the wild and take on nature’s many forms in World of Warcraft: Forever. We’re sharing Development Team insights on Hunter and Druid, including how these classes are evolving through talent updates, class-defining abilities, and new ways to play.
The dead zone ruins hunters. Just sayin’.
L2Raptor Strike and Wing Clip!
Seems like a skill issue…
It is kind of annoying seeing them give so much thought about hunters in forever when the retail hunter is as shallow as it gets and plagued with different issues like identity, pet pathing and many more.
It seems to me that Lone Wolf is currently significantly inferior to using a pet. According to calculations and logs from the classic version, the 20% bonus deals less damage than an active pet, and we lose all its utilities, which have become much more numerous now. In its current form, this talent looks too weak and dull, perhaps it needs to be reworked
deep sighs
Me no want to play as a circus ringleader (packleader + animal companion + fkn stampede) but both me, and my group, is heavily punished in M+ if I pick dark ranger and/or solitary companion.
Let’s not even touch MM. What an utter joke.
At least SV is somewhat… fun.
Nope. It’s a fun issue.
Why did the list ALL the changes. Even what existed ? To fool your average person into thinking that they actually putting work into Feral lol ?
You’d never know there was a forum for Forever would you. Even Blizzard have decided that Forever needs to be splattered everywhere. Is this also in the customer support forum?
If I could choose one retail QoL thing to bring to Forever, I would love the auto-shift to cat form on casting Prowl.
All news goes into General Discussion. ![]()
I wish they would make BM pure ranged.
Going from bear to cat dumps all my energy?!
You just ruined the whole point of feral druid: The ability to make the shapeshift forms greater than the sum of their parts, and then you introduced powershifting but got rid of the actual shapeshifting fantasy in it. And you did this because some people go bear for a mangle sometimes? That’s ridiculous.
And so in order to get back what I had I have to shapeshift and then use the powershift button, paying double the mana?

It was pretty much perfect in the patch we’re playing now. Why?
To prevent Bear-weaving? Firstly, this wasn’t a big problem anyway, and secondly it fits the fantasy of druid far better than what you have done anyway.
Forcing feral Druid to continuously dump their energy to enjoy their shapeshifting is awful, especially in PvP. Reconsider this!
I think they will also start putting it in ow2 and diablo 4 forums also
Need Boomstick and Bombs
Hunter pet abilities are never explained in-game
Hunters are the only class where a core mechanic is not taught by the game, so a genuine new player has to learn it from a third-party site.
At level 10, the class quest has you use a taming rod on 3 creatures, turn it in, and unlock Tame Beast. The game never tells you, not once, that you need to go out and tame different animals to learn higher ranks of Bite, Claw, and Cower, or to pick up new pet abilities. Most of us take that for granted now because of sites like Petopia and Beastmaster io, but the game itself does not teach it.
A small quest change would fix it
Make the 3 animals in the level 10 quest teach Bite Rank 1, Claw Rank 1, and Cower Rank 1.
Every race that can be a hunter, including the newer Skyborne Elves, already has beasts with Bite, Claw, and Cower in their starting zones. If the quest both tames the animal and teaches its ability, players actually understand they have to do this later to upgrade pet abilities.
You could also rework Beast Lore: unlock it at level 10, and have it show what ranks of abilities the animal has. That only adds to the class fantasy. It does not take anything away.
The Night Elf quest is split in half
This one hits Night Elf hunters harder than anyone. Their level 10 pet quest is split:
- First part: tame 3 animals and turn in at Dolanaar. Rewards are Tame Beast, Revive Pet, Dismiss Pet, and Mend Pet. That is it.
- Second part: talk to a different NPC in Darnassus to unlock Feed Pet.
New players often stop after the first turn-in. In Teldrassil general chat you regularly see level 10 hunters ask how to feed their pet after finishing the level 10 quest, get told to use Feed Pet, and then reply that they do not have Feed Pet in their spellbook. They finished the first half, thought taming was unlocked, and never did the second quest. The design has been unintuitive from the start.
Zephras Isle has no stable masters
The new Zephras Isle starting zone has no stable masters at all. Every other starting zone has them. The spots where a stable master should be standing are there. The NPCs are not. I have not seen this acknowledged.
This is not feedback about power or balance. It is about the class quest being impractical for new players. Use it, reword it, pass it on, as long as it can reach someone who can change it. It improves the new-player experience.
