Wasnt it planned to be “classes” by the devs? Then why are we getting speedeunning? Something that has no place for the average classic / forever player?
Dont design the game for the top 5% or the streamers. Design it for the median
okay after watching (part of so far) the episode. its clearly not speedrunning. but the point stands blizzard. “speedrunning” is a term for the top players. its not the median of player.
what the episode is “An overview of Classes” - so perhaps change the title to that instead. its fine you have a streamer or 2 as guests. but dont cater to them. because they are in this for content first and fun second - the general players are in this for fun. “content” is not considered. because they are not CCs
basically what i got is that mages and wl stilll have the uper hand. screw quests / dungeons jusrT AOE farm and ure awesome…more or less
Really enjoyed the podcast, keep it up guys! It’s really refreshing to hear an honest take from the design side of things
“we use the feedback”
procede to dismiss and ignore the voices of those who hate seal twisting
something from blizzard will never change, good to see wow forever have an Ion equivalent
Also, already nerfing retribution?
why is gay kitty being promoted by blizzard? wheres the beta suspension for breaking the social contract?
Wow no offense to your intelligence, but that’s a cheeky title to the video because they were cramping discussion on all classes over barely an hour. That’s why they’re “speedrunning”. They’re not talking about the game, but the podcast itself.
You can go holy shock instead of seal twisting. Enjoy that ![]()
Great podcast for the specs that was represented, I wish we could hear more insight on the specs that didn’t. Many spellcaster classes have been worried about the new base damage reductions on spells and it has not been adressed enough.
For example elemental shamans have had significant reduction to both base damage and scaling coefficiency on their core abilities LB and CL. CL is not testable on the Beta since it is a level 32 spell which makes it hard to give feedback on. The same way the developers seemed unaware about the change on Fear range for Warlocks, are they aware that the change on base cast speed (and reducing the cast time talent from -1s to -0.5s) severely reduced the damage scaling of LB and CL.
Rank 1 CL at level 32 has been reduced from 200 - 227 (+0.714 coefficient) to 85 - 97 (+0.571 coefficient) which is significant to say the least. With reasonable spell power it’s going to do LESS DAMAGE THAN A LIGHTNING BOLT even if it chains to 3 total targets while costing MORE THAN DOUBLE the mana. The balancing doesn’t make sense and hasn’t been addressed with several weeks of Beta.
The shaman talent trees are also a complete mess where you’re forced to pick up bad points just to move down into the tree (see row 2 - row 4 in elemental that got worsened with the change on Elemental Fury) and enhancement has no good options when they’re finished with their 31 points as Elemental Fury got moved, they still want Improved Fire Nova but have to put so many useless points in elemental just to get there.
Please give us shamans some love before the launch of the game.
I don’t want to play an half holy hybrid i want to play a retribution paladin.
Also shockadin have already been nerfed with the champion of the light nerf from 100% to 60% of spell power from int
Also watch again the podcast, the akward silence after the question about shockadin being viable. they know it won’t be but they don’t care
I actually really like the current seal twisting talent.
I would rather keep it that “simple”, and bring the difficulty through the dungeons and raids.
I don’t want to focus too hard on damage, but have time to use my tools as a Paladin to support the group.
My issue is that there is really no alternative to that and the shockadin is already nerfed.
Not that having to go holy to play ret was something i wished for
Man, this is so annoying. TBC Shadow Priest is the defacto Classic final version of Shadow Priest. The only time it’s been flavorful and cool. Just add VT back., or merge VE and VT into one.
Sidenote: Bring back Elemental Mastery!
