Class Tuning Incoming - 27 October

The following class adjustments will arrive with scheduled weekly maintenance (27 October in this region).

CLASS CHANGES

  • DRUID

    • Feral
      • All damage done increased by 5%. Does not affect PvP combat.
    • Restoration
      • Developer’s note: These changes are intended to help Restoration Druid deal with burst damage in dungeons, as they are behind other healers. They are performing well in raid settings, so we are targeting talents and abilities that are favored when healing a 5-person group.
      • Verdancy healing increased by 60%. Does not affect PvP combat.
      • Regrowth healing increased by 10%. Does not affect PvP combat.
      • Improved Swiftmend increases Swiftmend healing by 40% (was 30%). Does not affect PvP combat.
  • HUNTER

    • Marksmanship
      • Developers’ notes: These changes are intended to boost the area damage effectiveness of Marksmanship Hunters.
      • Trick Shots now increases the ricochet damage of Aimed Shot and Rapid Fire by 85% (was 75%).
      • Explosive Shot damage increased by 10%.
      • Volley damage increased by 10%.
  • MAGE

    • Fire
      • All damage done increased by 5%. Does not affect PvP combat.
  • ROGUE

    • Subtlety
      • Developers’ notes: The buff Subtlety received as compensation alongside changes in the 12.1.5 patch overshot expectations, so we’re rolling back a significant portion of that buff. In addition, the patch changes benefitted Trickster more than Deathstalker, so Trickster is receiving an additional smaller nerf.
      • All ability damage reduced by 8%.
      • Trickster: Fazed now increases damage by 5% (was 7%).
  • WARLOCK

    • Affliction
      • Unstable Affliction damage increased by 20%. Does not affect PvP combat.
    • Destruction
      • Rain of Fire damage increased by 20%.

PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER

  • DEATH KNIGHT

    • Unholy
      • Developers’ notes: The last adjustments to San’layn did increase its viability, but the impact of Vampiric Strike has been higher than we would like.
      • San’layn: Vampiric Strike damage reduced by 20% in PvP combat.
  • DEMON HUNTER

    • Devourer
      • Collapsing Star damage increased by 20% in PvP combat.
  • EVOKER

    • Preservation
      • Chronowarden: Chronal Dynamo increases the healing and damage of Living Flame by 80% when not an instant cast in PvP combat (was 50%).
      • Chronowarden: Reverberations now causes Verdant Embrace to heal for an additional 80% over 8 seconds in PvP combat (was 40%).
  • HUNTER

    • Marksmanship
      • Kill Shot damage increased by 40% in PvP combat.
      • Deathblow’s chance to be activated by Aimed Shot increased to 25% in PvP combat.
      • Dark Ranger: Black Arrow damage increased by 40% in PvP combat.
  • MAGE

    • Fire
      • Developers’ notes: Fire Mage has continued to overperform, so we’re decreasing its overall damage to bring it in line with expectations.
      • All damage reduced by 5% in PvP combat.
    • Frost
      • Developers’ notes: Frostfire has not been a competitive option for Frost Mages this season, so we’re increasing a few of its burst damage aspects to differentiate its damage profile from Spellslinger.
      • Frostfire: Isothermic Core’s Meteor damage increased by 20% in PvP combat.
      • Frostfire: Duality’s Pyroblast damage increased by 20% in PvP combat.
  • MONK

    • Mistweaver
      • Developers’ notes: Conduit of the Celestials has not been a competitive option for Mistweavers this season, so we’re increasing its consistent and burst healing.
      • Conduit of the Celestials: Celestial Conduit healing increased by 35% in PvP combat.
      • Conduit of the Celestials: Strength of the Black Ox absorb increased by 25% in PvP combat.
  • PALADIN

    • Holy
      • Developers’ notes: Holy Paladin’s throughput has been underperforming and we’re decreasing the mana cost of Holy Light to promote casted healing.
      • All healing increased by 5% in PvP combat.
      • Divine Favor now reduces the mana cost of Holy Light by 50% in PvP combat (was 30%).
  • PRIEST

    • Holy
      • Developers’ notes: These changes are aimed at further improving Archon’s viability in PvP with targeted increases to Prayer of Healing’s group healing and the power of proc effects from the tree.
      • Prayerful Litany now causes the primary target of Prayer of Healing to be healed for 75% more in PvP combat (was 125%).
      • Prayer of Healing healing increased by 30% in PvP combat.
      • Archon: Resonant Energy now increases healing done by 4% per stack in PvP combat (was 2%).
      • Archon: Empowered Surges now increases the healing of spells affected by Surge of Light by 10% in PvP combat (was 5%).
      • Archon: Realized Potential now increases Flash Heal healing by 25% in PvP combat (was 20%).
  • ROGUE

    • Assassination
      • Deathstalker: Deathstalker’s Mark damage increased by 20% in PvP combat.
      • Deathstalker: Hunt Them Down damage increased by 20% in PvP combat.
      • Deathstalker: Darkest Night now increases the damage of the next Eviscerate by 15% in PvP combat (was 8%).
  • SHAMAN

    • Restoration
      • Healing Stream Totem and Stormstream Totem healing increased by 20% in PvP combat.

Is fury warrior just forgotten? It’s one of the worst performing raid and m+ specs and nothing is being done about it, feels great to be forced to play arms to be invited to stuff. Things are not fine, luckily forever arives in 2 weeks so I don’t have to touch retail until fury gets to be competetive

While you are at nerfing Subtlety, could you buff other 2 specs of rogues at least %5-%10? Assassination and outlaw are not doing well in single target.

And you are late with subtlety nerfs, people already did +24s with your excessive buff to subtlety even I had to try that awful spec that I didn’t play for 10 years. Please consider buffing other specs as well instead of buffing one so we can play with whatever spec we want as rogue. Thanks.

devs have completely lost their minds with their devourer

where are the changes for enhancement shaman? the mobility and defensives are awful. And outside of the burst window this spec does nothing.

Still no Frost Death Knight buffs, wow.

The buffs to Devourer are proof balancing is completely broken at the moment. I had a Shuffle game yesterday, where in a single round every Dps class including me had about 8 mio damage while the Devourer Daemon Hunter had 17 million damage, so more then twice that damage. What is going on blizz?

Fix Blur already.

This is ridiculous.

Make it 30% for both specializations baseline.

Both Demon Hunter specs, ESPECIALLY Devourer, are just getting killed non-stop now in PvP.

Devourer’s blur is literally 15% in PvP. As another person pointed out, that’s literally Warrior’s defensive stance with a cooldown. Ridiculous backwards change that was made at the start of Season 2.

I will remind again, for the 10th time, that you REMOVED Netherwalk. You nerfed Glimpse multiple times. Demon Hunters are not supposed to be forced into permanently running away in PvP, not being able to output their damage. Or getting deleted by other classes while Blur is active.

Rectify this issue and Demon Hunter will feel good on both specs in PvP.

And don’t you dare go for some roundabout solution like the Armor of Souls PvP talent (which nobody has space to take) or extra hp. Fix Blur.

Serious suggestion, not joking: How about you remove half specs from the game and combine them into the ones that are actually viable? Have 1-3 tanks similar for healers and DPS. You obviously can’t tune correctly and about 30% specs are unplayable garbage in whatever content. Just gives an illusion of choice where there isn’t any.

You must absolutely hate warriors. Fury war is dead last in the logs, yet remains completely untouched. In high-key dungeons where big packs are pulled, he is utterly useless due to the 5-target hard cap. Instead of fixing this, you are buffing everyone else’s damage through the roof, even though his single target could easily take a buff too. Now that’s what I call “perfect” balance.
