Join in the Talebound Demo on 30 October

What is the point of this? Honest question.

Instead of focusing on Retail story, improving it, make it actually Interesting and compelling we get this and Invasions every other patch. Is this what retail has become? A universe of things to collect?

Forever is about to take huge chunk of playerbase, most likely for good but we get this. And invasions, oh and character “reset to default settings” every few months.

Is this World of Warcraft trying to be a ARPG?

“No ‘further’ subscription is required” is what I think they mean; no WoW subscription = none of the spin-offs, either.

It’s a demo test on the PTR so no sub required most likely means no sub required in this case.

It’s such a shame. Several of Talebound’s rewards look really cool.
But I absolutely abhore rogue like nonsense. :downcast_face_with_sweat:

It has a witch, what is this? I wish I could have witch as class now :sob:

It’s bait, when in reality subscription isn’t required for PTR.

As for testing, no thanks this time. It will be bugged on release as usual and my experience of it will be spoiled by the time it goes live, if there is any appeal at all to this experimental game mode.

Plunderstorm had the same setup, didn’t it?

No subscription needed. Essentially a separate game, just lobbed together with WoW. The rewards are tied to Retail WoW, but the gameplay is not WoW at all. Plunderstorm had some weird combat design and this Talebound allows you to play Slayer, Inquisitor, and Witch – whatever the hell any of that is.

So it’s like Plunderstorm in the manner of being some weird mini game that’s made within WoW’s engine but kept separate from WoW because reasons? I don’t know. 4D market strategy plan? Maybe.

Honestly I have no clue, barely touched it at all.

Annoying that they cant just add that witch in the game. We need new witchy/wizardly hero in game which they overtune as the new thing and then it might be playable as caster for the next 6 years.

It’s hard not seeing the pattern when something new is added but perhaps this time it could be something cool like wicked witch instead of some lizard race :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

I’m not into experimental game modes, thank you. I prefer to play my own character.

Non target action combat in the actual WoW when?

A fun game mode that provides some interesting rewards through experimental content.

That it doesn’t advance the story much is practically a godsend given how poorly Retail has been handling whatever playable or non-playable race ends up in the spotlight.
