Why remove it though? Just remove the extra time and let us keep the toy as a cosmetic option.

Oh, my sweet summer child, you’ll get used to this. :face_blowing_a_kiss:

Have you ever met the Blizz fun police?
Are you new? You must be new.

thanks blizz for the twitch drop! it’s a cool idea - because recently all twitch drops have been murloc housing decors and this time for obvious reasons it couldn’t be another murloc. i like this very much BUT why would you ruin the whole drop by removing the toy after? sure: the benefit of an extra hour should be removed after but the toy and the cosmetic effect taken away feels like givig a child a candy only to snatch it from their hand directly after to make them cry. that’s a thing i see so often nowadays: a great idea but then ruined by a totally bad unnecessary decision. honestly if you take away the toy it would have been a better idea not to give it to us at all. please consider this.

EDIT: after discussing the topic with naguura in her stream she explained to me that the whole point is not to bloat foerver with collectibles as it is in retail (many many toys, pets, mounts, whole bunch of recolours etc etc - nothing is special any more). okay - fair enough i get it. but why the drop for forever then in the first place? why not just making the drop for retail - a cosmetic violet campfire? or maybe “transfer” the toy to your retail collection after the forever launch celebration has ended as a cosmetic effect?

Reading about Twitch Drops makes me twitch.

I don’t have an account, don’t want one, and personally don’t want to support that form of entertainment.

The effect, however, is cool and fitting for a void/shadow user. Not that most of my characters would want to sit close to a madman setting it up.

They should just make it a cosmetic effect for the campfire and let every Twitch user keep it.

Honestly that’s valid, although this is one item to celebrate the launch, and since we are not having another one of those, I don’t think it would set a bad precedent.

I am not watching four hours for you to take it away a week later.
What kind of logic is this even ?!

Have you completely lost the plot?
What’s next? Paying 50 euro in the shop for a mount to have it last one week?

How about paying 60 euros to beta test a game? Oh wait nvm.

So we have now time limited rewrads? Not just to acquire them, but to enjoy them?

I get it - you don’t want to make Forever about toys and pets. Then why adding something in the first place?

Oh! I clearly didn’t read the bit about it being a short time thing and then removed

[BUG]

I got the Pouch of Violet Dust Twitch Drop in my Twitch inventory and my twitch is properly connected to the correct Battle.Net Account, yet the twitch drop still asks me to “connect” an account. I have recently made a post on reddit, and the comments confirm that this issue applies to a lot of people.

It’s really a shame that a portion of the playerbase is locked out of the 2h camp buffs because something is not working correctly. Would really appreciate it if somebody could look into this.

I thought you wanted people to play Forever?

Surely there must be better ways of giving out rewards other than watching some idiot play on twitch.

wow

That is an insultingly weak promotion.
If I had a Twitch account I would delete it x)

Temporary rewards is just a new low now. Seriously?

I’m hopping people never actually watch these to receive something, because sometimes you gotta watch their venting for a combined 12h, 24h, 36h, to get certain things. Please, for your own sake just leave the thing running on some device and leave, go away, live your live, play a game, go on a date, meet your mates, eat, watch a movie, rot in bed. And 4h later you get the thing anyway, minus the brain rot.

Ok, let me be reasonable here
What was the thought process behind this toy? What was the goal here? To raise ‘awareness’ of Blizzard’s precious streamer-base? To promote people finding streamers (vouched by Blizzard of course*) so that in turn the streamers promote the game further because they get more viewers? Blizzard scratches their back, streamer scratches theirs? Am I missing some factor here? Is there something I’m not taking into account? Genuinely asking here.

So then, after f̶o̶r̶c̶i̶n̶g̶ encouraging people to watch this person - muted of course, on the second monitor in the tiniest of browser windows (turned off overnight obviously but the stream is still running and counting towards the 4h); or on your phone, muted, screen facing down, overnight
we don’t even get to keep the bloody thing?

Well well, aren’t I glad I just let the thing run overnight and not actually watched it just to get taken away.

*Thus, never a small, grass-roots, wholesome streamer that actually needs views and appreciates every single person watching; engages with every new person; engages with chat; mo it will always be large streamers with their own little inside jokes, regulars, and happy to ignore you completely, those obnoxious so called streamers?

You should had learned from studios like Klei and they Don’t Starve Together. If you don’t want to spoil campfire flames in the game with permanent purple make other models for campfire firewood and stones arond it instead. Flames keep natural color (you can mae exeption for warlocks who should be able to make green fires) and you would have a repurposable promo material.

This ephemeral item is available only within WoW: Forever and can only be used during the “WoW: Forever Launch Celebration” event period, which expires in early December. After that point, the toy will be removed from players’ collections and will no longer be available in game.

Oh dear.

At this point I feel like Blizzard is LARPing as Akarat when he emotes “When will you learn” before one shotting you with a sword strike.

Now Akarat is emoting “When will you learn” before hoping no one reads the entire article.
