Class Tuning Incoming - 10 November

Now that players around the world are leveling up in WoW: Forever, we’ve identified a few class issues that we feel need some immediate changes. Today, we’re still investigating these issues and working through them with a plan to release hotfixes on Tuesday, November 10 to address:

  • We’ve seen that Hunter pets and Warlock Voidwalkers are not as durable as tanks as we would like them to be. Our intent is for their effectiveness to be relatively the same as in Classic Era. We will adjust their stats as necessary to accomplish this.
  • Affliction Warlock reports indicate that always channeling Wrack is superior to also casting damage-over-time abilities like Siphon Life, Corruption, and Bane of Agony. We will make adjustments to make sure those are always worthwhile to cast combined with Wrack, without affecting Affliction Warlocks’ total damage output.
  • Enhancement Shamans are finding that Intellect and Spellpower are superior stats compared to Strength and Attack Power. We plan to make changes so that Strength is always their strongest stat, and Enhancement Shamans will not prefer gear intended for Mages and Warlocks. Ideally, Enhancement’s best items have Strength or Attack Power, along with some Intellect and/or Spell Power.

Please note: Enhancement Shaman players who are leveling up will want to collect Strength and Attack Power gear from now on.

We may find new issues over the weekend, and we will keep you updated. Our plan is to make class balance changes on Tuesday, and then on future Tuesdays if necessary. Thank you very much for your feedback!

That means in the near future there will be 100 additional dungeons drops, leather and mail, with the appropriate stats for enhancement?
Because if not: There won’t be any enhancement gear at all, because that gear just doesn’t exist right now.

What about the rest of the warlock pets? It’s not just Voidwalkers that are made of paper, all the other pets are also worthless and die to every AoE or a hard sneeze… Just change health scaling to 4.5hp/stam…

So for me as enhance, sub lvl 30 i always went stamina and spirit, not because of damage but because of sustain without having to drink all the time, and now im wearing some caster gear mixed in for sustain too and to heal in dungeon while leveling, you literally boosted int to ap ratio before the launch, and now you are balanaceing based on leveling stats… Maybe wait a bit before tuning like this? With all the new spells to use we need more int, strength already gives more damage than int does so why do this? Not everything is about damage, and if you think we prefer this gear purely for hit damage you are wrong

I love how they doubled down on the Int scaling a day before the game went live.
Then Enhance Shammies(me included) started collecting Int/Caster gear.
Blizzard: “Wait, why are the Enhance Shammies gearing like Mages? Who could have forseen this??”
Me: “EVERY SHAMAN EVER BLIZZ!”

want demons to have similar durability to classic era? so mage can kill them instantly with 1 frostbolt again, nice

So much for no changes until December. There’s a huge trend here of class changes resulting in sweeping over-corrections, and a snowball effect of yet more changes needed.

There was a whole beta to find the right balance for each class and then blizz made a whole host of untested and unnecessary changes afterwards which this tuning is rolling back on.

Blizz need to be far less reactive, far more subtle in their tweaks and try to keep sight of what each of these classes is meant to be.

E.g. if enhancement shaman wasn’t supposed to stack intellect why give them a talent which converts 150% of int to attack power? It’s not rocket science.

Stat weight changing every tuesday! (And we still have Plainsrunning only for Horde)

Let the Tauren players have their fun

That’s definitely how this warlock nerf right before launch feels. Does a dev have something against Warlocks or something? The timing of it was nefarious. Such an over-nerf as well when it was fine.

nobody is having fun with plainsrunning but solo players. what is fun about not being able to level with your friends because they choose not to play tauren? let them have fun with a new unique racial that wasnt made by someone ingesting 20 ounces of shrooms and adjust as needed

hunters not OP enough, meanwhile a stupid tauren racial got nerfed in BG because it was OP?
have you guys even tested your own game? lol
forever wont last long at this rate.

What’s preventing Tauren players from simply leveling with them anyway? You don’t HAVE to leave them in the dust. Just play together.

its not toggleable for one

whats wrong with plainsrunning? it takes ages to build up and one wrong move taking dmg its gone again..
it takes a full run from camp mojach to starting town (tauren) for it to be max stacks…

meanwhile all of you fishheads complaining about a speed buff that isnt that great, takes a huge time to build and much faster to lose.

what about human or undead trinkets? those are way more OP then plainsrunning…

You can zigzag, or switch to walking until your mates catch up/the buff fades.

wow running in zig zags and rp walking, yeah sounds fun. literally giving me a headache thinking about this moronic suggestion

pretty sure you are giving yourself your own headache mr negative.

Guys please be happy. We literally have a dev team patching the game weekly while also communicating really well.

We haven’t had this for a long time.

It’s super exciting that instead of a well polished game that has all been figured out in 6months of alpha followed by 6months of beta, we now have a game that is not figured out yet that we as players can discover/explore instead of having it forcefed to us on youtube.

And we don’t have to wait months for patches anymore. Isnt it nice?
