Lanrus Why are people so mad that glaives are only allowed to be used by the class who's whole fantasy revolves around them?
It's been pointed out a few times, but just for posterity's sake, and in no particular order:
1 - Demon Hunters aren't the only ones who use glaives. Trolls (notably Vol'jin, Rokhan, and the the Siame-Quashi) also make use of them.
2 - The Warglaives of Azzinoth were previously classed as swords and used by all dual wield characters, including being hotfixed after release so that DK and Monk could both equip them.
3 - The glaive weapon in question has
never been seen in the hands of demon hunters, and is instead a Sentinel (Warrior/Hunter/Rogue?) weapon and has been since WC3 when NElves were first brought into warcraft.
4 - Demon Hunters make use of other weapons (such as that one lass who uses a
scythe) so it's not like glaives are super super special and DHs only ever use them. Illidan style glaives are a big part of their class fantasy, sure, but the weapon that is the topic of this thread isn't one of those.
5 - They've added other 'warglaive' weapons such as the Fist of the Deity (Wrath) and Mindscythe of the Legion (WoD) which have the same model-shape as the Aldrachi Warblades
as fist weapons in the past - so I'm not sure why this is a glaive.
There is zero reason for the weapon to be classed as a glaive outside of its name, nor to be class restricted the way it is. It's not a demon hunter weapon. If it was classed as a sword, no one would complain*. It's not a conventional sword, sure, but no one expects them to make a whole separate weapon type for "weird spinning throwing triple bladed thing".
*okay, maybe some nelf priests would.

Especially on the PTR where it's either:
- Likely to change
OR
- A mistake made when labelling it's weapon type
You know how shizz like this gets changed? By kicking up a fuss about it.
