A D&D Inspired Combat System for Your Guild!

In the doc I went back and clarified under “Spells”, under the “Weapons” header, that the roll can be damage or healing. Feel free to have a read through!

Not a system i would personally use, since very used too simplistic 5E system.
But hope others finds it useful!

Ok, so, as a gm and forum user i was very interested in this, but if i’m being honest with you, upon opening this system i wish i could swear on forums because the only thing coming to mind is “fel me this is complicated”
Will come and update this when i’ve given it a proper readthrough, and if it works for you then thats great! but I personally have experience trying to use a dicemaster system, and always found they stifle rp by being overcomplicated. My guild use a very simple tier-ed dice roll for combat, and perception at DMs discretion, because I prefer to focus on the story being told and the individual rp interactions, rather than maths. Of course, this seems to work wonderfully for your guild but i really don’t know how well it could be adapted to outside guilds, seems -everyone- would need to be comfortable with having their character along these powerlines.

EDITED: So I’ve given your document a read over and its very clear from reading that you and I have very, very different rp styles, which is ok and good! If this works for you I’m happy for you but I would personally hate it.

One thing I would say, perhaps for your neglected magic users or warglaive wielders, wherever they may be, is that there is very little scope given for area of effect or cleave damage, for instance if you have Annie Arcanist against Bob Grunt and his five brothers- and she wants to make some kind of arcane explosion, how would that work? Does she roll a d6 for every member of the grunt family? Is her damage split between them all? Or if I’m swinging my warglaive through 2 demons infront of me, how is the damage split, or is it the same for both? If Sillyname Wordword the gnome inventor is using bombs, traps or some other explosive device, how does that work?
Also, the armour section is again, woefully lacking in the many and varied applications of magic for defense that exist in Azeroth- I feel very sorry for your spellcasters who likely put all their stats in arcana and are stuck in light armour and die to a single swordswing.

Forgive me if this is mentioned in the guide but I’ve had a look and not found it, so i hope this helps!
