Gotta give Trump more time.
So when you put armor on, they look like a Night Elf. Gotcha.
Even without armor, the uniqueness of them is the tusks, ears, and hairstyle. That’s as much, or as little, as any of the other new playable races have gotten who’ve been designed off an existing model. Which is all of them.
I’m honestly not sure if the Harronir will look more visually distinct against a Night Elf and a Nightborne than a High Elf would against a Blood Elf and a Void Elf.
It feels like it’s the same model that’s been used two times before and now one gets used for a third time rather than the other.
I don’t really see the argument for why the Night Elf model can handle being used three times but the Blood Elf model can’t.
Either way, I think Blizzard chose the Harronir because their zone was likely already half-made for The War Within, and then they decided to lump it into Midnight, and then it made sense to include the Harronir as a playable race to make it feel more relevant to players.
Why do you guys freak out so much about it? Just make a blood elf with blue eyes or a void elf with blue eyes and blonde
Exactly it is my opinion. Just like your comment is yours. The difference is I’m right.
Yeah go troll elsewhere
Another race that i won’t play.
I don’t know what is their problem with giving us cool races, where are the Amani, Ogres, Ethereals, Gnolls…?
Such a lack of imagination.
Weren’t you the one practically begging Blizzard to remove the Horde 30 minutes ago?
That was badly written sarcasm, im more angry about, how they are killing horde off and making em meaningles
It is already world of elfcraft. We do not need more.
Happy to have something at least a bit different.
Now where dracthyr paladins?
That was some friendly fire right there. I get what you’re saying now
Its really a discount troll they are creating. Reskinned , its really not appealing that this is the best they can make.
Hey, lets take a nightborn asset and paint it dark green.
And no forest trolls for the Horde…
Midnight seems to be the “opposite” of The War Within for some aspects:
- War Within gave us Earthen, a race based on an Alliance race. Midnight gives Harranir, based on a Horde race
- War Within was indeed too Alliance-centric in its storytelling. Midnight seems to be Horde-based
Void Elves - unique since they mastered void powers, or were corrupted by them (thus exiled from Silvermoon) … former Blood Elves, before former High Elves. Only difference is the in game racial you have.
Blood Elves = High Elves - exact same race no difference. Original High Elves disbanded their connections with Alliance after Arthas decimated 90% of their population. Remaining Elves renamed themselvs to Sin’dorei, aka Blood Elves. The very small part (lead by Vereesa) were exiled from Silvermoon after they didn’t want to accept their nations’ decission to leave Alliance (and because they refused to replace their magical addiction with fel).
There’s no racial difference bettween High or Blood Elves - exact same race and so on.
It’s like asking to have separate races for all original orc clans or troll tribes.
As said, wanna play as ‘high elf’ make a blood elf with blonde hair and blue eyes. Wanna be Alliance - make a void elf with same customization.
I’d rather have new race like Haranir, with their new lore and unique customizations than have AGAIN reskinned blood elves.
Eh. Maybe.
I still think both the Earthen and Harronir were intended for The War Within – as was their zone.
But then Metzen came in and changed the plans.
And then when whilst they were working on Midnight someone suggested to just finish up the Harronir race as well as their zone, and then stuff them into Midnight.
And then they did that.
Because it does feel like it relates to The War Within. I didn’t really see any void creatures in that zone.
Yeah sorry about my pushback too, in the head of the moment things get mixed up
If you would know something about lore of this game you would know Blood Elfs = High Elfs. Go replay W3 Frozen Throne to fill your gaps. They just rename themself nothing els.
you are literally playing one doofus
the new race is like meh
Cry harder.
Also, it’s been made clear MULTIPLE times that the only remaining High Elves who aren’t Void Elves are a part of the silver covenant, and there isn’t enough of those for an allied race.
