[A-RP] The <Lionheart> - Chronicles

Letters have been dispatched across Alliance and Alliance-friendly organisations, asking for their aid in searching for individuals suitable of being recruited for the Lionheart.

Prospectives will be told plainly; the danger is great and grows by the day. The Void is the largest looming threat, but there are many others that require individuals of heroic merit and skill to contend with what few others in this world could handle.

So it is that friends of the Lionheart amongst the Shado-Pan, Wardens, 7th Legion, Cenarion Circle, Kirin Tor, Argent Crusade and more begin their search.

The Lionheart is opening recruitment once again!

Do you want to be part of epic adventures, trials and tribulations? Do you want to make full use of the setting and vibes of Warcraft and everything it has to offer? Do you want to play a hero who will hurt and bleed, even fail, but ultimately overcome and emerge victorious?

Some things to keep in mind for a prospective recruit to the Lionheart;

  • The Lionheart is an Alliance guild and will not waver from this. Attitudes to the Horde may vary from member to member, but the Lionheart seeks to uphold the truce despite personal misgivings and will work with them when required.
  • The Lionheart is a Hero guild. Capabilities may vary (Legion Order Hall NPCs are a good benchmark), but characters should all be capable of holding their own against significantly powerful foes as part of a group, and there will always be potential for growth.
  • The Lionheart will always aim to make the choices that spare the most lives, though in the knowledge that sometimes lives need to be taken and some are beyond saving.
  • To this end, characters should not be unnecessarily bloodthirsty or aggressive without reason or provocation, or otherwise be able to control those inclinations.
  • The Lionheart is intended to represent the entire Alliance, therefore, no character will be rejected out of hand based on their chosen race.
  • However, with the above in mind, only characters who have already performed great deeds (whether alone or part as a group) throughout the history of Azeroth will end up being considered, the Lionheart is not an environment to train new heroes.

If you’re looking to get recruited to the Lionheart, contact Valis (Discord: thatoddone21) or Guillaume (Discord: foxesz) out-of-character to register interest and/or pitch your character/concept so we can work with you to determine if they would be a fit for the Lionheart. We’re very happy to come up with stories and scenarios for that character to get noticed and recruited as a collaborative effort and help you come up with something that is right for you.

Generally speaking, the character will be recommended by any number of people outside the Lionheart, and then they will be approached in-character for recruitment, or they will be directed to Valis or Guillaume in-character with them already knowing everything pertinent about the prospective recruit.

Hey there! I was looking for a guild on AD for RP. Are you still recruiting?

After surviving a perilous encounter with the corrupted Black Dragon Anyraxia and welcoming new heroes into it’s ranks, the Lionheart has returned to duty across Azeroth.

They kept to the spirit of the treaty with the Horde if not the text, acting alongside SI:7 in secret to foil once and for all the plans of self-proclaimed Trade Prince Duke “The Duke” Buckbanks, who sought to refound the infamous Blackfuse Company that served Garrosh Hellscream. He employed black blood weapons and horrific experiments that resulted in the deaths of dozens of Alliance soldiers, and the Lionheart would not be dissauded from bringing him to justice, even going so far as to infiltrate the Underhold of Orgrimmar to stop Duke before he could salvage Blackfuse technology still present there. They were able to extract before Orgrimmar’s defenders could react to the disturbance below, having perhaps saved the Horde’s capital from great disruption at the goblin’s hands even if this will go unknown or at least unacknowledged.

They also travelled to the Broken Isles to assist an adventurer in need in attempting to save his lost party from the machinations of a Highborne Necromancer, and their quest will soon take them to Stormheim in pursuit of potential survivors, or at least to bring the culprit behind their deaths to task.

A return to the Tyraine family catacombs in the Eastern Plaguelands saw them aid a Knight of the Ebon Blade in destroying an ancient Amani warlord cast down by his own people for his misdeeds and imprisoned in the troll temple that the human catacombs were built upon. The warlord - his skeletal body mutated to gigantic proportions by contact with the black blood deep below the earth - was vanquished for good and the catacombs finally abandoned entirely to be sealed off, with the magic of the Light and the Loa combined, previously keeping it’s inhabitants from being raised, expended.

Tonight, the Lionheart will head to Tol Barad to assist dwarven forces in dealing with remnant Twilight’s Hammer who have fled to the island, though rumour has it they’ve rebranded and may have a new patron…

Whilst the Lionheart enjoys some much needed rest (Some more than others), it is still on the lookout for heroes to join it’s ranks and combat the coming darkness, and the myriad of other threats that will no doubt rise along the way!

With Legion Remix ready and able to give you an idea for the type of character the Lionheart looks to recruit, now’s a good a time as any for inspiration. Be an Order Hall Champion for the modern era!

The Lionheart has been given a special assignment in Stormheim. A Reliquary team, led by Examiner Ny’dara Windseeker, has gone missing while searching for an ancient artefact in a Titan vault. High Command is concerned that it may be a weapon and, knowing their history, has discretely sent the guild to find and rescue them, and ensure no dangerous relic makes it into the hands of the Reliquary.

What mysteries will the guild uncover about this artefact, and will the Reliquary become a problem should they be found?

Hello there! I was recommended to check this out after making a post looking for a guild  I’d love to get in touch about seeing if recruitment is still open and if I’d be a good fit!

How frequent is RP in the Lionheart, and how many people usually attend an event?

Thank you! ^^

Hello! Recruitment is indeed still open, feel free to get in touch. If you have Discord, you can add me (foxesz).

The guild is mainly event-focused (though there are a few people who enjoy casual RP!), with major campaigns happening every ~3 months, and smaller storylines/events ran by other members (and Valis) to fill in the time in between. The major campaigns typically have 6-10ish players on average, while the smaller storylines tend to have a few players less.

The weather sure was bad in Stormheim. When will we get our guild-issued raincoats?

Chronicles

In the past week, the Lionheart’s continued their search for the missing Reliquary group. They tracked down a cave linked to the vault, where they faced a challenge that tested more than just their combat prowess. A custodian made of constellations oversaw the challenge and, as they entered the vault, reappeared before them as its custodian.

The titanic vault - named the Vault of Odyss, after the first mortal who gained access to it - housed an altered telemancy beacon from Suramar. A creation of the nightborne exile who gave his name to the place, Odyss. The Reliquary had somehow damaged the artefact, causing their disappearance as they were scattered throughout the telemancy network.

With the guidance of the custodian, they repaired the beacon and followed one of its paths to a distant vrykul tomb. There, they met a dismembered Forsaken named Marcus, whose limbs had been removed by invading kvaldir who took away four blood elves of the Reliquary, led by a mage named Amaras. There was another catch, however, a curse had fallen upon the tomb - one placed by Helya, and one that dragged the entire place into her domain: Helheim.

The guild met with the King the tomb belonged to, Halvor the Defiant, and promised to free him. Hours later, the warded doors opened and the kvaldir entered the tomb, caught off-guard by the Lionheart but a monstruous creature named the Lightkeeper forced them to leave the tomb and out into Helheim proper.

There, they spotted a singular spectre that stood out among the many vrykul and tuskarr, a nightborne lady. The Lionheart followed her and confronted her, revealing that she was once close to Odyss - or Odyssir as she called him - and was helping the blood elven mage Amaras who’d freed himself from captivity.

Together they combined forced to sneak past a ferocious hound, parlayed with Helya’s Speaker to negotiate the release of the remaining blood elves as well as Halvor the Defiant, provided they could defeat an opponent of their choosing while under Helya’s curse. They fought the Lightkeeper a second time, defeating it but almost costing the life of the guild master in the process.

The Lionheart escaped with the elves, Marcus, and the soul of the nightborne named Lopene. They would need some time to tend to their wounds, but there remains the great mystery of Odyssir’s network. Where did the rest of the Reliquary get sent to? Are they still alive?
