So by Blizzard’s oversight the NPCs still exist in their pre-Legion state to continue serving as vendors and inkeeper responsibilities (hearthstones). I can only assume then that the tavern is still staffed by NPC owners, just not necessarily those three.
This still doesn’t justify any specific Guild swooping in on the location to claim it as their own. There’s a difference between working for the owners and being the owners, and I believe that’s important when it comes to roleplaying fairly with others.
Well, they exist after Legion too, as they haven’t updated the zone, and I doubt they will change them until then.
So for now, we don’t even know how Darkshire is to begin with, considering how almost the entirety of the Night Watch have joined the ‘‘Veiled Hand’’ cult and murdered most of the people there that didn’t join them.
For all we know, Darkshire might very well be completely abandoned for the time being.
It would seem there are problems with my presence in lending in a hand in running the tavern. I even heard I cannot give people drinks, food and beds when others are offline. Anyhow, I will pull back for now and rethink my project. I ran the tavern in ages past with my own guild and later alone, but there seems to be discord about my presence. I simply wanted to stay true to the canon lore as possible and bring some life to the dark fantasy village of Darkshire. I returned to RP from a year long hiatus and found the tavern empty on my first week in. We’ll see what the future brings, I guess!
You’re allowed to do what you want. No one can tell you otherwise if ‘other people are offline.’ Who are they to tell you that you can’t fulfull the duties of a barkeep without them looming over your shoulder.
I can’t second this enough. They can’t own a building and even if they could I’d take a loaner who facilitates RP over an owner who hinders it anyday. Tbh, shame on them for trying to hinder RP on an RP server.
Don’t give up pal! Just like they said in the replies above, no players can “own” a tavern. No pdf with 100 pages can “claim” a single chair on this server!
Lots of Alliance roleplayers were attending the Silverpine Offensive Campaign that day, I’m sure it was just an unfortunate date. Bet if you’ll host it again more will people will show up, heck if you keep this ongoing one day you might even worry for too much attendees!
