[A-RP] The Seventh Legion - Military RP

We are the nameless, faceless, sons and daughters of the Alliance. By the Light and by the might of the Alliance, the first strike belongs to us and the last strike is all that our enemies see. We are 7th Legion.

The Sixth Cohort of the Seventh Legion

The Legion was born out of the men and women who accompanied Jaina Proudmoore to Kalimdor following the near-total destruction of Lordaeron by the former Prince Arthas Menethil at the behest of his master, the Lich King.

Lordaeron became a howling wilderness of corpses and demons. Many of the survivors fled south, but others went west with Lady Proudmoore and her loyal followers from Kul Tiras, as well as others such as the Gilnean Brigade. These disparate Human and Dwarven forces united under Lady Proudmoore and served with distinction on the slopes of Mount Hyjal, taking the first and heaviest brunt of the fighting against the demons and undead forces of Archimonde the Defiler.

With the resumption of contact between Theramore and Stormwind came a new Alliance, as the Dwarves, Gnomes and Humans of the Eastern Kingdoms allied with the mysterious Night Elves and Humans of Theramore. Together, these allies made formal what was already fact, and each supplied women and men to the front line fighting force of their combined armies. The High Elves who had travelled with Jaina to Theramore also contributed more than their share of battle mages to the 7th, giving it unparalleled flexibility as it could draw from each race’s strengths to fill its ranks.

In more recent days the Legion has found itself on the front line of almost every war the Alliance has taken part in, using it’s combined skills to overcome the most daring of obstacles, often serving alone or ahead of other Alliance forces. The Sixth Cohort has fought from the gates of the Undercity to the walls of Orgrimmar, each campaign played out by our ever growing community.

What can you expect from us?

We will offer our members the opportunity to take part in an active military based roleplay guild! Taking a focus on RP-PvP as well as our own PVE campaigns, we shall offer our members the ability to develop and expand their characters as the guild grows. If you specialise in a certain role we will seek to expand on that, for example if someone is amazing at making weapons we will make sure that becomes an important asset for the Legion.

What we’re looking for from our members

We’ll be aiming to recruit members who are as excited as we are at playing out a military type system! Be that working together to hold the front line against Horde forces or negotiating with locals to get access to information. We want to cover a whole spectrum of skill sets!

While it is not required for our members to be grizzly old veterans, we do ask that all characters seeking to join the Legion are prepared for transition from civilian to a military life style.

Ranking within the Legion

Commander: The highest rank within our cohort of the Legion, currently held by a Quel’dorei by the name of Theon Morningstar. The Commander is in charge of the overall organisation and leadership of the cohort.

Lieutenant: The second in command of the cohort, the Lieutenant is capable of organizing and managing the legion in the stead of the captain! He/she will assist in the preparation of plans and political meetings.

Sergeant: The key role of the Sergeant is discipline, while the Legion are supposed to be the elite, no force is without need for discipline. The sergeant enforces the will of his superiors and makes sure that rest of the cohort keep the high standards of the legion, anywhere from monitoring the quality of uniforms and drill to dealing with deserters.

Corporal: Working directly under the sergeant, corporals are tasked with assisting the sergeant with enforcing discipline. However they are also some of the most experienced soldiers within the legion, and so can be used as anchors for the rest of the unit to form around!

Champion: A somewhat unique rank, champion is given to one individual at the start of each campaign! The role lasts for the period of the campaign. The champion will step up in any case that Legion is called to single combat, be that an honour duel or to deal with an enemy leader. Mostly however this roll is an honour, and anyone may be selected for it, from legionary to Lieutenant.

Legionary: The most common among the ranks of a cohort the legionary is the bread and butter of the Legion. Be it slinging spells or holding the front line, legionnaires are diverse and capable. To obtain the rank of legionary is to be a full fledged member of the legion, a member of the family.

Aspirant: Everyone has to start somewhere, be it transferring to legion or joining as a fresh recruit everyone will start life as an aspirant. They’ll be under the scrutiny of the sergeant, having to prove to him that they’re both mentally and physically fit enough to join the Legion. Once they have proved themselves they will swear their oath to the Legion and to the Alliance.

What does being “Elite” mean?

The 7th Legion without a doubt is an elite force, and that means that they are picked for the most dangerous missions and secret operations. However it is important to remember that you are still roleplaying a mortal, your character will grow tired, homesick, wounded perhaps even lose the will to fight. The type of ‘elite’ we’re looking for isn’t always going to be the best fighters, it’s the correct mindset that is important to us, so if you’re looking for a place to roleplay a god among men I suggest you look elsewhere. We’re here for the gritty down to earth RP!

Having just finished our return campaign over three weeks fighting through Gilneas, we are now on route home via Arathi Highlands. We’ll be in Stormwind for about a week while we take on new recruits and complete our Aspirant Trials!

If you’re looking to join now is a great time, we’re looking for about five new members and will close recruitment beyond that!

We’re now back in Stormwind for some meetings with other guilds before setting out once again! Some shore leave and the chance to take on new Aspirants!

This reminded me of an old military guild named Ninth Battalion.
Love some proper military setup though!

The blood soaked shores of Kalimdor call the Legion home, operation White Rook begins next week.

The Scream

The scream still echoed in his ears, blood coated his hands and his heart raced as he ran on instinct. Scooping Kel’shara up into his arms he ripped open a void rift and stepped through it, practically into Legionary Daeharice. He watched as Tathe’s eyes shifted over him and then Kel’shara, yet he didn’t say a word, simply stepped around him and went through the rift to aid the others on the scouting mission.

Meanwhile, Raiyen carried his partner to an empty tent, placing him carefully upon one of the beds, his gaze slowly travelling over him, checking that he wasn’t injured anywhere else before he moved back to his shot wound. Was it his fault? Had he put Kel in danger? A soft noise of discomfort from Kel pulled Raiyen from his thoughts and just at that moment Lillitu entered the tent with a flurry of canvas.

“What happened?”

“…Goblins with guns and night vision goggles.”

Lillitu let a low hiss come from her lips before she moved closer, her one good eye flicking from Raiyen to Kel’shara, she checked them both over in less than a second before moving to Kel. Carefully she unwrapped the bandage and checked on the wound.

“I see your stitches are still skilled and precise.” She stated to Raiyen before she pulled an acorn, a leaf, a shell, a flower and a feather from her bag. Carefully and with Raiyen’s aid, Lillitu moved the cot bed to the centre of the tent and placed the items around the bed. Raiyen stepped out of the space directly around the cot bed and Lillitu sat on the end of it, closing her eyes.

A low soft green glow came from the kaldorei’s fingertips and slowly flowed across the cot bed before seeming to tumble down the legs of the bed and into the ground. A circle formed around the bed before flowing to the acorn, lifting it from the ground and causing it to float. The green glow became stronger as it flowed into the acorn, next it shifted to the leaf and did the same, each in turn were caused to float and the glow became stronger, the shell then the flower and finally the feather.

With each now floating, the two circles connected and the energy from the items, the life from them was used. Leaves began to swirl around Lillitu, the bed cot and Kel’shara as Raiyen watched from the edge. The energy caused a low glow of green to flow over Kel’s frame, it covered him like a cocoon and slowly seeped into his skin. His purple complexion and star like freckles shimmered with the pale green energy as it was absorbed.

The frown upon Kel’shara’s features eased as his body was soothed. “He will recover faster now.” Lillitu’s voice caused Raiyen to jump a little before he smiled softly at her and nodded, the objects around the bed had been turned to dust and scattered across the floor now and all of that energy had flowed into his partner. Stepping closer to the bed again he could see that the anger in the wound had gone, the stitches were still holding strong and the skin there was still brighter where it was raw from the shot but was definitely healing better now.

“Thanks, Larkspur.”

“Anytime, Valadian.”

They looked at each other and both chuckled softly, “Sorry…” he stated and she shook her head, “Habit, I know… I know” she rose from the bed and together they gently pushed it back where it should be, “You should rest as he does.” She stated and looked to Raiyen before offering him a vial, “… drink this, else you will refuse to sleep.”

“I need to wa—“ He was cut off “No. You need to sleep. He has been tended to, he will recover and in recovery he is resting. You need to rest as well.”

Raiyen furrowed his brow before finally nodding he drank the vial she had given him and passed the bottle back, before taking off what he needed to, in order to be comfortable. Then he made Kel as comfortable as he could before gently putting a wool blanket over him. Finally he lay down, wiping his still slightly bloody hands on his own blanket and let out a low sigh.

That scream still echoed in his mind but finally the vial began to work and he fell asleep, the vial he had been given cut off his thoughts and silenced his mind, he slept without dreams, without nightmares. Without thoughts.

Operation White Rook continues, as the Legion slogs through the heat of the Barrens. The Kaldorei await in the forests of Ashenvale, yet what has drawn the Alliance’s elite forces to these lands?

Operation White Rook has moved out of Ashenvale and keeps pressing on…
