I’m not sure about totally account wide reps, but alts should have 100% bonus rep with a faction if your main is already exalthed with it.

Account-wide reputations do not mean the characters should not get their individual reputations, in fact, it won’t make sense account-wide reputation without character reputations, just like there are account-wide achievements and character achievements at the same time. Basically, the account-wide reputation with a faction should be exactly the value of your character with the higher character reputation with that faction.
I’m not sure that I would call it a “catch up” considering it’s only 500 rep and it looks like you probably wouldn’t be expecting to get them daily.
But it will definitely be nice to send to my Max Rep accounts to help build toward the paragon rewards. Hopefully it works past exalted.
I wonder if it’ll be worth stockpiling these for when/if they do another Impressive influence buff.

The point I am making is that each alt should earn everything. Account-wide reputation means… that you earn a reputation once and then that’s it. My point is this - it should be possible for me to get the fresh experience WITHOUT buying the game again. Currently, it’s not. Way too many things are shared between characters. If I want to get the fresh character experience, I need to buy a 2nd account. This is awful.
I’d be fine if Blizz had the option to make a “fresh” character where nothing is shared between it and my other characters. Until this becomes an option, I am against account-wide reputations, account-wide covenant progress, account-wide anything.
Cant wait to screw low pop AHs over. Or abuse them.
Your point is not necessarily true. Account-wide reputation could be like achievements and have both character and account version, so if you earn a reputation you could earn that reputation again with another character.

That is partially false. It is true for mounts and pets, but is false for achievements. There are account-wide and character-wide achievements, just because you have an achievement unlocked in your account does not stop you to earn the same achievement in additional characters because the game does not only keeps track of what you have done, it is also keeps tracks of what your characters has done, at the end account-wide achievements is a superset of characters-wide achievements. Account-wide reputations could be the same, it could be made having character-wide reputation as a base intact.
Then you should agree with me because the account-wide reputation I describe performs that action that you want. Is account-wide progress without sacrificing character-wide progress.
You don’t seem to get it. I want to be able to get the fresh experience without buying the game again. This means no achievements shared, no mounts, no rep, no heirlooms, no tmog shared, litearally nothing. I want to be able to create a character and have the same experience as if the game was brand new.
that is simply impossible as your standing knowledge of the game ultimately changes your experience.

I find it hard to believe this is a way the bulk of the playerbase would want to play. However there is nothing wrong with you suggesting to Blizzard to have this kind of mode added to the game.
Currently we already have various account wide systems or account wide unlocks.

You don’t get it, you can have a fresh experience with achievements right now, and you can get it with reputations too if account reputations work like achievements. You only need to ignore account achievements and reputations and complete in your other character their character achievements and character reputations. Just because you say you can’t get fresh experience does not mean it is true.
There is no reason to choose between character and account progress, we can have both at the same time. Having both everyone could have what they want, those who do not want a shared experience and only want to do things once will have account progress, and those who want to have shared experience like you or those who want an intermediate thing like me like having account experience on alts but invididual character progress on main can have character progress.
No, I cannot. Mounts are shared. Achievements are shared. For example, in BFA, I got flying on all my characters, even if I had earned it on only one. This is what I mean when I say I can’t have the fresh character experience. Every character I make has a hundred mounts, hundreds of pets in their collection. It has progression done on it already. It is impossible to get the fresh character experience.
I hop on my 170 ilvl mage alt, and it shows right up there in my achievement list - Curve: Sire Denathrius. It is impossible to have a fresh character unless I am paying twice. This is completely unacceptable. As long as this is the case, I am against all sharing between characters. It is a matter of principle.
This conversation here reminds me of what got heirlooms and levelling nerfed in 7.3.5.
Some people : I want slower leveling. Heirlooms are too Op.
Other people: Then just don’t wear them.
Same people as first: Reeeee leveling too fast nerf heirlooms…
This is why we can’t have nice things. Even when they add OPTIONAL quality of life improvements to the game there are people who always complain…

man, dont remind me…makes me sick how much gold i spent on them only to not having them used once ever since the chance because they have become useless up to downright annoying 
could have bought a couple of mounts with that gold…

I could have bought the green frog 333.333 gold and 2 other 70k BFA rep mounts i miss with gold spent on looms and upgrades .
They dont even give decent item level and so weak now .

yeah, all you get is only transmogging once and a buff at the most inconvenient times. if you re lucky you wont pull passive mobs when you get the level up…yay… 
guess we cant have nice things for once.
I remember Ion saying SL will be the most alt friendly expac ever i am still waiting to see it .

Stuck with 4 leveling dungeons and we cant pick the zone we want to level in if we pick story .

and conduits are a pain to get as well on top of all that…meh. i wouldnt be mad if they would just auto complete the covenant story as well and start me off at 4 renown. i ve seen it all multiple times now, its getting tiring.
