if tyrande can’t shoot it then she can’t fix it
It was a full character, yes. And full characters make up the majority, from what I observed. You can assume same level of dedication from trials too, but they use trial accounts to avoid potential bans.
At the time I had the “interview” with the erper, docks were actually relatively clean. You’d see a weird boy there occasionally, but those seemed like just passing characters.
If I had to guess, I’d say that initially people started leaving gs for lion’s rest and then either more left gs for docks or perhaps those that left for lion’s rest have splintered off to go for the docks. I don’t know, nor do I care to find out the details of coomer migrations tbh. There’s also the fact that the docks themselves, the area below is most of the time empty, so they can withdraw there once they hook up.
What I can say is that the less normal rp there is in stormwind, the more coomers will encroach. I noticed it in late bfa when many people have left the game and suddenly me and my partner were surrounded by very sussy characters while in the docks. And by the time we quit, there were more blatant erp characters than the subtle ones.
I mean let’s not kid ourselves here, at the height of a very busy BfA-era Stormwind you’d see blatant fetish alts just mingling with the common Stormwind populace everywhere, unquestioned.
They just don’t care.
That’s true. Maybe it’s just my subjective experience, but I feel like it was considerably less prevalent, to the point of being pretty much a non issue to my rp. What I’m dreading now is pretty much a full on migration of coomers into docks (as an example) to the point that there are no normal rpers there at all. Well, I say I’m dreading, but it should be in past tense.
Nah, it’s more just that the flashy lights that were distracting you from that one really ugly christmas tree ornament have one by one been popping out, while the ornament has hung there without ever changing, slowly catching your eye more and more.
I don’t think the amount has changed, not even the shamelessness of it. Underage ERP alts were trotting the streets of Stormwind well before the exodus started, it’s just that there were more people around them obscuring them.
I think it doesn’t help that when people started seeing two or three or so coomery profiles sitting on a bench in Lion’s Rest everyone collectively decided that noo!!! its taken over by the coomers!!! you cant rp there anymore or you’ll be thought of as one of them!! like yeah hm I sure wonder how come it’s only those types that still linger there, now
i think the problem is that coomers stink and nobody wants to rp near them
if they just took a shower every once in a while it wouldn’t be so bad
A mention of “musk” somewhere in trp
Can’t be a 100% certain but it’s an interesting and plausible explanation. Quite possible.
I’d say it all stems from the attitude of the community. If people have been on here long enough they start to get nostalgia and compare the present to the ‘age of old’. Sure a few things are different, but how about we stop complaining and refocus the energy on providing a better community therefore Rp will thrive instead of dive.
These are probably the same people who take what happens in Goldshire as being IC. Seriously people, stop doing that.
People should become less paranoid. It’d make roleplay easier and less awkward.
I don’t know, every time I’ve let my guard down there’s always another “heh takes a drag on his felweed blunt i dont have time for this my android demon wife is in labour” encounter within an hour.
TRP was a mistake.
Sadly we’d have to stop using everything if we stopped using things because bad people might misuse it
Trust me, if you’re unlucky enough to see the sort of ‘rp’ and characters that are lingering around Orgrimmar lately you’d be quickly looking elsewhere. It’s an absolute joke.
Child and cat RPers have spawned in abundance.
Personally; going out on a limb here - like how I have written before; that many get nostalgic over the personal investment. Time, effort and friends, and in their absence? Are good reasons for feeling like RP is worse or even “better” before.
That it’s not “as good” as it used to be.
Although yes I feel it can be both that and that times change, more alts and less time to get into RP means more throwaway / new characters coming and going with little staying power.
In an odd way, perhaps it’s just both - better and more accessible to get into general RP - but also more OOC history lingering, causing friction for those that have invested much into this.
Haven’t done any roleplay in forever and thought about getting back into it, attempting to find a guild through casual RP. Was quite surprised about how incredibly dead it was - so I’d say no.
Yeah but if this thread can be necro’d back from the dead then so can roleplay. Just need somebody to dig it up.
(Yeah I was kind of pessimistic before. Things seem a little better roleplay wise these days in my opinion.)
Wait? So you’re saying all the children, cats, san’layn and shadowlands races AREN’T serious characters?!
Roleplay has been declining since early Legion. I think it has become more or less stable now.
