Honestly I think they just added a zero to everything by accident. Brann is literally half what he was, and what he was was about 10% better than the barebones basic he needed to be.
If the problem was healers were spamming heals and doing nothing else; change the buff so that only effective healing is converted to damage, and have it pulse damage every 5 seconds, using the sum of effective healing done in the past 5 seconds. This also solves whatever was going on with HoTs vs single cast heals.
Also provide some curios for pure dps classes that give Brann significant self healing, because trying to play arms warrior with Brann tanking was terrible. A dps spec doesn’t need Brann to do more damage, how about a curio that reduces his damage done, but gives him 50% leech or something?
Basically stop treating the fun detector like a smoke alarm and treat it like a noise you want to hear.
Brann tank insta dead in 11 and if the player decides to tank instead, they will be taking almost no damage on same difficulty. Instance mechanics are too easy and the main challenge is not falling asleep while you fight the boss who can barely damage you for 10 minutes.
If you are struggling as a healer with tank Brann, try the following tips:
Brann doesn’t really start tanking until you heal him, so throw him a direct heal as soon as you pull even if he doesn’t need it and watch him go crazy.
If Brann is standing in bad stuff, try moving yourself as if you are standing in it. Brann seems to be quite responsive to your own movement (mostly). Same goes for moving out of stuff that will stun him.
The fun factor has definitely reduced dramatically since yesterday, but it’s still doable.
There is also an issue with him suddenly taking crazy damage from some random mob and healing seems to have minimal or no effect. This issue has also affected me when playing as a tank myself, so not unique to Brann.
Kind of difficult as melee without ranged interrupt during a boss that has rotating ice pylons, does big AOE shadow circles of which 2 stick to the ground, and the boss doing Encased Webbing attack that slows you and hurts like 15-25% of your health each tick that you need to interrupt while simultaneously healing yourself + healing/reviving Brann as DPS/Healer because he keeps standing in the AOE like a clown.
Oh and while being undergeared 20ilvl for the encounter… just failing because Brann is useless.
The rest of the Delve went off without too much trouble, a bit of kiting here and there and taking time.
Tested tank Brann today. Bro dies instantly on tier 8+
This change is just laughable. Ok, nuke his damage dealt but recieving 60% more dmg? Who in their right mind would think this is a good idea? Oh right, someone who never touched the game.
The problem with Delves is in their core. Game being digital aka mathematical it simply has to follow the math and there is no room for wishful thinking and theories. (role agnostic nonsense)
You CAN NOT to design something which at same time is for solo play and group play and all roles and to work fine.
Therefore, remove stupid companion, make them solo only and dps only. Two versions, one for melee and one for ranged.
+11 dvelves are ridiculous atm - everything is a literal health sponge while mobs hit like wet noodles and literaly only thing which can kill you is when you get 1 shot because some mechanics 1 shot you
so yeah - meain problem is trying not to fall asleep when you spend forever bringing down hp of packs.
Guys that nerf might’ve been just a taaaaad bit overtuned, as a solo DPS my tank Brann absolutely FLOPS to the ground back to back even on T8 delves. Would higly suggest to think twice on that 60% increased damage taken and 20% hp cut!
What no one at Blizzard understands is that two healers; MW and DISC have almost DOUBLE the damage output of other remaining healing specs while actively multitasking (yes healers are expected to contribute dmg as well).
Their optimal healing rotation actually consists of dealing damage, so one activity is not necessarily at the expense of other one’s performance.
With druid for example, dealing damage and healing is two separate activities. Your healing suffers when you start casting spells or go into cat form.
Just look at how it is played in the raid. The druid is literally a rejuv bot and you are looking at frames as if you are playing wow classic whereas these two kings target the boss and smart heal the raid.
So not only is druid damage weaker to begin with, it now requires you to heal Brann much more leaving no room to cast damaging abilities (unless you’re playing at a snail’s pace). Brann himself deals so much less damage so no wonder why your run takes 2 hrs to complete.
But when Blizzo says they’ve performed gameplay tests I don’t really trust them, because how could they not have noticed major problems with damage into healing conversion for these two classes?
The delves have once again returned to their original state, season 1 clownshow where optimal approach is to go solo as tank and hope you don’t fall asleep while fighting target dummies for 3/4 of an hour.
Don’t really care about difficulty but if they insist on this garbage, please reduce the length of seasonal journey to 1/4 of what it is so everyone can acquire login screen and cosmetics in two weeks and go play something more social or productive where the main challenge isn’t only in finding enough free time to complete four delves per day.
Brann is not viable anymore for hybrids and pure DPS he was a bridge between clases with Pet tanks and those that dont have them beside healer specs.
In the first week my Elemental shaman having brann as tank was enjoyable Throw some offheals and keep dpsing while he survived packs of mobs in AOE. My warlock could just use Felguard as I felt he is even more durable than Brann as a non Hybrid and I could heal him myself
Now he is just too squishy I dont care for his DPS because when he is tanking Iam the DPS but he cant even tank then.
Its back to boring healing Brann like always
Having Brann as tank was a option that isnt anymore for non healers, Hunters and warlocks already have tank pets so they can chose whatever, the other classes that dont have permanent pet tanks just cant use Brann anymore, he is simply not viable anymore.
here what I would do, give his HP and more damage reduction back, keep the damage nerfs and make so that when he is eating he tries to finish not cancel at just 1 step of our character movment becuase that sannoying when he wants to recuperate HP and just cancels and we have to sit there waiting for him
In classic Blizzard fashion, nerfing is done by making something utterly unusable. Maybe we can try 10% and see how it goes? Nah, make it 60, that’s a nice number.
I did Earthcrawl Mines a few minutes ago on 8, and I had precious minerals.
It doesn’t matter where I pull, Brann just stands on the tracks and lets himself get killed by the cart.
It doesn’t matter if I try to clear the room carefully. If Brann decides he wants to get one-shotted by nemesis adds behind a pillar, he just does it.
And the last boss, I can’t even put it into words.
If someone really tested this, what was the point of testing? To see how terrible you can make it?
What gear did they use? Full mythic gear? I need to see footage of this internal testing.
