You realise it’s not a choice when MONEY is playing 99% of the part, right?
The cost of transfering -one- character is 30 euro. That’s about the same as a new game.
Then we take in the factor of having alts, who’s (in over 70% of the playerbase) tied together due to Profession systems, as well as generally having a feeling of unity…
In total, that would cost me 450 euro.
All because the factions are imbalanced, both in people-count AND the people performance (Personal Experience).
Tell me again how it’s a choice, thank you.
I also disagree with the “Chill and laid back” experience you have (Not saying you are wrong, again; Personal experience).
I’ve found Alliance to be far more dramatic and unable to cope with being told to “get out of the fire”, progress seems to be less of the goal, teamwork seems to be somewhere else most of the time as it feels like people are more focused on “Me”-factors.
This is - my - experience, not universal law, but it’s what I have had through my 16 years around these parts.
Horde still has issues, do not get me wrong, but I feel like if I play on Horde, I get more things done due to people being more focused (Not sure if this explains it well enough).
So, 450 euro (More if I pick - all - my alts, even those I do not keep top-notch each expansion) to switch to what has become something “better” to play.
30 alone is enough to make it harsh for some.
Trust me I know about the hassle of having to move with several alts , a few months ago I made the rough (financial) decision of moving all my chars from Horde to Alliance and it costs me a huge amount of money (30€x12) so I’m aware of the financial impact , but leveling has been eased recently and it takes about a day or two to reach max level , 3 at most if you’re more casual.
Also the horde is more efficient in some ways than alliance I can agree with that , but it kind of helps my point of the more laid back faction , even tho obviously some people can be dramatic (we’re both humans after all , factions doesnt matter in that regard)
I still personally think its a choice which faction you pick , and how you take that decision , considering leveling has been made relatively easier recently , I think rolling horde is very easy to do and doesnt take much time
Yes, i agree, Alliance racials in general are better but horde are more focused and serious. I still wouldnt reroll horde, tranferring chars would cost indeed. However, i did consider switching from Silvermoon to Ravencrest because it has far better players and more serious in general.
Silvermoon is only good to get cheaper stuff in AH and quicker pugs, but raiding guilds fail in general, hence why i pug.
I’m forced to pay up due to having 16 years tied to my characters, not everything is account wide.
Had it ALL been account wide (Example again; Zandalari Rep) - then NP, I can level new ones.
I’m still disagreeing it helps your point with laid back, as it causes stress.
Example; Normal Inerva - Priest fails to move to the back of the orb.
We wipe. Priest says “Plz do orbs right”. We point out that He was the one who was on the wrong side, he then made a huge drama claiming he’s “super pro” (simplifying it a lot here) and then left the group.
Nobody was rude, we just pointed to Him being the one who did it wrong there.
This makes it a lot more stressfull to play on Alliance, as most of the time - we fail things that should be fairly easy, and fail to move on cause of a stuck-up attitude in many (Again; This exists on horde too, just my personal experience makes it feel like it happens More on alliance).
That in turn leads people to feel even more stressed cause progress is harsh and more of a struggle to reach, who then end up behind of others.
A guild with stable individuals is harder than ever to find, especially if you wish for them to be nice AND capable of progress.
I’d love to just be able to switch, without any problem - and would not say a word if so was the case.
That is not the case, tho, as we’ve discussed, and thus it causes a cry-out from us who are on “The wrong side”.
Yeah I have some friends on Ravencrest and it’s one of the most progress-oriented servers, while Silvermoon is just “large” as far as I know.
Somewhat the same with Argent Dawn as it’s an RP server - it’s big, and you can earn gold here on some odd stuff, while also enjoying the roleplay aspect; but if you are looking for progress… it seems Horde is your option.
I’ve also considered to swap servers for this reason, since Alliance does have a better progress-chart on places like Ravencrest, than AD.
This also puts a stick in the wheel in terms of “Feeling like it’s fair” when it comes to faction, it doubles-up if you also picked the “wrong” server…
Alliance has free-mode for Warmode on AD tho due to RP phasing, so that’s the plus around here.
If you read my entire post, you’d have known that this is my alt I made to play specifically with my friends who switched to horde for progress - and thus it’s not my main, nor the char I have had around for long, as it was made for that reason - and made a HM-tauren for Heritage.
Thing is that tagging is already becoming an issue and it’s getting worse. Effectively for alliance it’ll soon be back to the olden days of unique tags on mobs.
There was an interview with Ion where he said that Blizz knows about the faction imbalance, but that they don’t know what to do about it. Well, there are several solutions to choose from or to mix. All have been mentioned in the forums several times.
Give the Alliance real PvE advantages like the Horde had it for over a decade, tier after tier after tier. The nerf of the dwarf racial in Castle Nathria clearly shows, that Blizz doesn’t want to take this route. Dissappointing that they did this wrong to the Alliance for so long, but refuse to utilize the same means to fix the situation. This is not the most elegant solution, but it is one that would definitely work as we have seen.
Cross-faction PvE. Suggested a lot. I see no real problem with it. If the person playing is cool I will play with this person no matter the race.
My personnal fix: Find a nice guild that fits your interests, prove them that you’re capable and that you’re worth their time, enjoy.
People need not to overestimate what happens in the world’s first race.
I mean, why do some people think that it would be hard to find a guild that is capable of doing the end game content? From personal experiance I can tell, it’s not hard at all. There are plenty of good guilds on the Alliance side, just not enough World’s first contenders. For everyone that does not intent to compete for world’s first this shouldn’t matter at all.
The alliance is verry much allive.
Its because of people like you spreading FAKE NEWS about the so called dead faction that is forcing people into the hands of the Horde.

nicer cities
no genocidal maniaks
And yet people go hore because people like you keep screaming ALLIANCE IS DEAD ALLIANCE IS DEAD
unless you are part of the 0.1% of WoW racials dont even matter, they provide no significant increase, apart from convinience. ( shadowmeld for example an alliance racial)

Funny thing is that the majority of the people that feel “forced” to swap sides for no reason, don’t have the slightest chance to actually join one of the world’s first guilds.
