Horde and Alliance iconic characters (Thrall, Jaina, etc) typically band together to fight against greater foes.
It just makes no sense that players are not allowed to do so aswell.
So, in my opinion: let players band together for PvE and keep the alliance/horde battles for pvp.
For some reason (which is weird tbh), right now it’s the opposite. We have mercenary traitors in PvP and “forced loyalty” where it does not belong in PvE.
It surprises me that some people are staunch defenders of the faction war even tho there are countless lore events where alliance and horde put their differences aside to defeat a greater evil:
Ahn’Quiraj
The Sunwell
Icecrown
Deathwing
Antorus
The siege of Orgrimmar in Pandaria
The siege of Orgrimmar in BFA
Hellfire Citadel
and a lot of neutral factions that have no ties to warcraft factions:
The Earthen Ring
all factions associated with Cenarius
The Argent Dawn/Crusade
The Ebon Blade
every class order in legion
are you telling me that random NPCs can choose to set their faction aside and work together with “enemies” but I can’t? It feels forced and doesn’t make any sense after everything we’ve done in the game.
I feel like it’s gonna be really weird in Shadowlands too. Imagine being in your covenant hub (which I assume is gonna be a sanctuary), picking up your world PVP quests and killing other members of your covenant? How would that be justified in lore?
Mythic raiding is the most engaging content, alongside with M+ and high end PvP. That’s my only interest in wow, hence why I wish they would stop those Mythic raiders fun taxes.
