Elf will do as he is told, or he will get the hose again.
Those pumpkins wonât accelerate their own growth themselves.
And once your hard day of work is finished, uncle Archie will catch you a pheasant.
Uncle Archie is kind of unavailable. Uncle Kilâjeady on the other hand⌠Oh wait. I guess uncle Vely is the only one left.
I meant uncle Arctur, but uncle Vely can help too!
The fact you consider Gamon a meme is neither here nor there - whatâs important is your definition of âgeniusâ as âsomeone with exceptional skills in a given areaâ is wide enough to admit Gamon, because he possesses those. Alongside surpassing courage and the magnanimity to fight for a faction that spurned him against the leader that was trying to ruin it.
Moreover, meme-hood is in the eye of the beholder. Anduin is a meme to plenty of folk in the WoW fandomâŚ
No, but youâre trying to present Anduin as some kind of transcendental ubermensch, when in fact all weâve established in these discussions is he possesses the same qualities as almost all Blizzard main characters and quite a few others besides.
I will admit, Anduin Wrynn is a great political leader. He really does know how to get people on his side and play on their morals.
However, he is no military leader. Like his father, he utterly failed to deal with the Ashenvale situation in Kalimdor that had slowly deteriorated for decades, ultimately causing the destruction of one of the NEâs largest bastions of power and weakening his main ally on Kalimdor. In addition, he utterly failed to counteract the blight during his invasion of the Undercity; despite the fact that it was a well known tactic of the Forsaken; and would have lost the battle if left to his own devices had it not been for Jainaâs miraculous intervention. Failing to anticipate the azerite weaponry is forgivable as it was an entirely new thing, but failing to account for the well established blight shows a gross military negligence on the part of Anduin.
I am all for having Anduin Wrynn as the political figurehead of the Alliance, but we seriously need a competent military leader at the head of our military effort and help young Anduin out!
He didnât fail to deal with it, Shaw and Malfurion did, who so easily fell for Sylvanasâ obvious trap. All Anduin could do at that point was send his legendary fleet to Kalimdor and hope that the Night Elves would resist in time.

Yes, because Blizzard had to dumb him down so that Sylvanas could avoid a crushing defeat, just as they dumbed down Shaw so that Sylvanas could successfully launch the War of Thorns. This is the problem with Human characters: They are too smart, so Blizzard has to dumb them down frequently.
and would have lost the battle if left to his own devices had it not been for Jainaâs miraculous intervention.
And? He still gets credit for the victory at Lordaeron, just like Turalyon gets credit for the defeat of Sargeras even though he would have failed if it wasnât for the miraculous intervention of the Vindicaar.
Besides, Sylvanas was dumb to believe that Jaina, renowned Alliance hero, fervent hater of the Horde and most powerful Human sorceress alive, wouldnât participate in the battle.
but we seriously need a competent military leader at the head of our military effort and help young Anduin out!
Greymane is already helping him. Wyrmbane and Velen are also advising him on matter of wars. Do tell me who should lead the Alliance military. Tyrande? The fool who was willing to send her entire force to suicide just to kill a few Orcs barricaded inside a temple?
Anduin is merely a character for children who watch baby programmes. I completely ignore both he and Sylvanas as they are toxic to the story.

Anduin Wrynn is supposed to be the leader of the Alliance, and a leader takes complete responsibility for the success and failures of his team. Whether it meant taking actions to ameliorate the long conflict; having a long talk with Malf and Miss T about the seriousness of the conflict; or setting up contingency plans.
Greymane is already helping him. Wyrmbane and Velen are also advising him on matter of wars. Do tell me who should lead the Alliance military. Tyrande? The fool who was willing to send her entire force to suicide just to kill a few Orcs barricaded inside a temple?
Greymane is a loose cannon. Useful in certain situation but he needs someone with a cooler mind to work with to counteract his own recklessness.
Whilst I believe none of the characters you mentioned are suitable to lead a military coalition, we should remember that the Alliance have the Draenei and Night Elves on their side; both races possessing members with up to many millennias worth of military experience.
We wouldnât have to look far to find a 10,000+ yr old Draenei Exarch or Night Elf Sentinel possessed of such age-long military knowledge far surpassing what any normal lived human or Orc could ever dream of.
As in, actual fighting? I mean, we saw what the cooler minds did at Lordaeron and Teldrassil.
General Shandris Feathermoon, Commander Jarod Shadowsong, Warden Maiev Shadowsong, to name three.
I doubt the Draenei have any noteable persons left aside from the Prophet Velen and Farseer NobundoâŚ! Although Nobundo, as a former Vindicator has more Military experience then the entire Human and Orcish history combined!
I am going to eat an abnormal amount of flak for this. Draenei are specialized, from what we have seen in their history, in lightning quick strikes of small elite forces. This is how they wagged war against the Ogres and the orcs, this is how the army of the Light fights.
From the night elven commanders that you have listed, the only one who has experience at comanding large armies and fighting on the open field is Jarod Shadowsong. He is also a master of coordination.
Experience the night elves and draenei have in plenty, but not in the kind of warfare we are wagging now.
Then I suppose that his only mistakes were entrusting Shaw with command over SI:7 and underestimating the naivety of the Kaldorei leadership who so blindly followed SI:7 report.

Such as? Certainly not Muradin, Moira or Tyrande, they are much more reckless than Greymane.

Indeed, Velen is one of the High-Kingâs most trusted advisors.

The scenario in Mists of Pandaria already proves that age =/= experience. Tyrandeâs plan was retarded whereas Varianâs plan was flawless.
General Shandris Feathermoon, Commander Jarod Shadowsong, Warden Maiev Shadowsong, to name three.
Shandris is already advising the High-King on matters of war and is a high-ranking member of the 7th Legion. Jarod Shadowsong does not seem interested in aiding his High-King, perhaps the natural hubris of every pointy-eared buffon is clouding his judgement. As for Maiev Shadowsong, she is a maniac who attempted to genocide a portion of her own people.
By my beard, I never thought to see the day. Arctur is defending Greymane in a debate!
The fact that Greymane is one of the best candidates left to advise Anduin proves that the Alliance has truly fallen low these days. The golden days of High-King Varian are sadly gone. This is what happens when we give too much power to the vile subhuman garbage.
Whatever you say, Rudolph.
No, not rlyâŚthat wasn´t Anduin.
Why do I always have to get you off your âHuman Overlordâ ship?
I have better things to do. It proved only one thing, proving that Varian had more patience than Tyrande (which is doubtful if one remembers the entities in the background alone (Goldrinn - Elune), but it does not prove what you are claiming.
And Varian is a opposite from a normal person.
And in terms of experience, Tyrande also has more according to Canon, it proved just one thing that had more patience varian and proposed a gentler strategy in this case than Tyrande. That was proven, nothing more.
If the leader does indeed take the credit for the actions of his subordinates, then he is the one who led the Alliance to victory against the Legion.
Why do I always have to get you off your âHuman Overlordâ ship?

Are you serious?
THEN LEAVE. WHO THE HECK IS FORCING YOU TO REPLY TO MY THREAD.

Another way of saying that Varianâs plan was smarter.
