Anniversary event math

Could you explain why this is a bad thing tho?

It would not change any thing for the people who want to grind and be gate kept for 3+ weeks.

I would just have it instantly by using Credit card.

Go play bdo or throne or metin2 then u if wanna swipe :stuck_out_tongue:

But why not just have the option for those that want it?

Because at that point i just think wow should go mobile and sell everything overpriced and then blow it up

Because it hurts the game? If you can farm it in the game, and also you can buy it for real money, those items literally has no value in the game, and I can see why people that can’t afford it, or just simply just don’t want to spend money on that could be mad, and not grind it as they would. You shouldn’t never be able to swipe in mmo if it’s a p2w, p2convenience, and even for cosmetics if you want a healthly game. It’s slowly makes the game a mobile trash. Your perception of that game changes then.

We could have those store mounts obtainable from some challenges, but instead you can buy it for $, and there’s no "wow…!’ when you see someone using them. It’s pointless apart from it’s a cash grab to milk you mr player, it has no value, and at the top of that we get recolors that we can grind for, and not those cool unique ones that are in the item shop already.
Also when you see those cosmetics in game that are behind paid wall your deep connection to the game world is interrupted. You can’t escape the problems, world full of conflicts and pain, and just simply relax in games like 15 years ago, because it reminds you at every possible way it’s just a service. Now gaming is a business, not an art created with passion in most cases, because players allow it to happen. We are already paying for expensive expansions, subs, and game services. Mounts, toys, transog etc. should be included with the expansions. Where is your sense of value of money?
What’s the reason of playing, achieving something if you can buy everything straight away? Isn’t about the path, and journey to the accomplishments rather than accomplishment itself?

I know it’s a lot of time to get all of those sets and other stuff, I don’t like it either, and I’m sure they will increase amount of tokens we get in like few weeks. Extra boxes, quests, maybe some from halloween, or something. But being able to just simply buy the tokens is such a bad idea, and it’s shame you don’t see why.

I mean… it wouldn’t have hurt to gift the first set away.

You are exactly the problem why games nowadays suck.

People love like you are the Prime example.

Pathetic

Why (tf) do people math out the time it takes to get everything?

What are you going to do with that set for your level 58 Priest alt you did not play since 2016 ?

FOMO, ya stupid!
Blizzard designed the whole event around that + nostalgia.

Once it’s gone, it’s “gone”… let’s not kid ourselves, they’ll end up in either the TP or cash shop within a year or so.

Yeah, this is the least satisfying thing ever. For a second I thought it was a bug when I got like literally ONE bronze, but nope. Motivation instantly got to zero.

Edit: I’m also wondering what the purpose of those 2 pet battle quests is (Brok & Obalis) since they reward nothing but gold. What’s the point to place them in the celebration area with a daily quest that rewards nothing related to the event??

Well, there is a type of game that normalizes swiping your credit card, combine that with saying they’re keeping up with 6 games simultaniously

I think that guy just has gacha brain man

It’s way too grindy and gets boring quickly, no thanks.

There were several reasons why people never logged back.

  1. They killed all the fun by nerfing people being OP early game, in an event they sold as being overpowered. They lied.
  2. The grinding were so obnoxious that when people were done farming bronze they were puking out of their ears. It was simply not fun because Blizzard drained everything fun out of the event

These events always brings these kinds of threads, and I am equally surprised every time.

Blizzard goes “You have 11 weeks to get these things”

And people go “OMG, so if I want all these things in week 3, I have to basically not miss ANY farm?? Lol are blizzard serious??”

And then proceed to no life farm something they don’t enjoy, burn themselves out, for cosmetics that will probably be forgotten 1 month after acquiring…

they fixed the fact that after “Awakening the machine” the bronze celebration token was not obtained. Obviously I completed it yesterday and got nothing, I tried to redo the event and got nothing. For goodness sake it’s not a vital problem, it’s a bronze not 10, but…

This is what annoys me about modern wow players. Always wanting it now and not wanting to put in the work. Its pretty sad.

if they keep weekly quest you do it on wednesday and never come back until next week. best design in years they had the solution in remix but the lead designer left blizzard and took his knowledge and secrets with him

You are not informed. It’s not 3 weeks to get everything. Once you unlock the first 100 (which takes 3 weeks), you unlock new ways to earn bronze. Time is limited, so the longer you take to unlock these new sources, the more bronze you miss out on.
3 weeks is not the end point, it’s the real start.

So, yes, people will feel pressured to do everything asap.
As people say here. It’s FOMO.

The way to solve this is to either extend the event time, or just change the design. But, you can’t blame people for not being happy. It is kind of crappy to have it work like this.

With that said… most of these are weekly. It’s boring but it’s not the end of the world. Definitely could be better though.

If you couldn’t understand the irony in my message I apologies  But I am well aware it takes longer than 3 weeks.

I’m just saying, you can still get the stuff without having to farm EVERYTHING each week. Yes you get it faster by doing so, but after 100 tokens you can earn bronze by repeatable sources such as the world bosses. Hence my “OMG I can’t get everything in week 3!!” People go to extremes, they burn themselves out by grinding things they don’t like only to have things 2 months faster and then getting bored that there is no content. Happened in MoP Remix too… People complained that it was too slow, they buffed it so it was almost impossible not to get everything if you played just normally, and whooosh people were done with MoP remix pretty fast.
