(Brutosaur) Another greedy day for Activision Blizzard

The Brutosaur mount is being removed in shadowlands to encourage people to panic-buy WoW tokens.

A disgusting level of greed, expect to see more of this crap in the future.

We have like 1 year to buy it.

Yeah, on this one point I have a burning hatred for Blizzard and their tendency to remove content from the game in order to create player urgency, with a not-so-hidden-desire to make more money out of it.

Friggin’ greedy sons of… :rage:

It’s a corporation that’s what they aim for money .

I’m sad to see it go and I will just never get the chance to own one.

There’s aiming for money and then there’s pure greed using scummy forced scarcity tactics.

I have several questions, starting with “Why?”, followed by “For what purpose?” and so on. Just as was commented on Wowhead by someone: All the other major gold sinks are still there, why this one? It really does feel like it’s a way to pressure people into buying the mount in a panic, because artificial scarcity is fun, apparently.

These were rhetorical questions. I’m well aware what the reasoning behind this is. Ol’ Bobby’s gonna pat himself on the back with a well-earned Christmas bonus.

Ohh Blizzard… sometimes you really make it too easy to just hate you

I’m curious to see how many people get spurred on by this to drop some cash and buy it.

Yes I know. But there’s no reason not to publicly shame Blizzard on this when the opportunity presents itself.

There’s no need to hold back when they reveal their disgusting, greedy business practices. :face_vomiting:

so ure benefiting from it, rejoice

I thought they would be adding it to shop or something but it seems it’s just another case of seeing what you want to see.

I was never on the ‘‘o blizz so greedy’’ side

But this is messed up, they remove the app & release a mount which is a pain in the a** enough, then they remove it so bassicly i have to grind my life away for gold, or spend real money or miss out on it forever, it’s utillity is too good to just ‘‘remove’’ it would be like removing the transmog mount 1 year after pandaria released

If it’s cold you can piss your pants to keep warm for a while, but afterward you’ll just stink of piss.

Likewise here, Blizzard will earn some quick money from inceased WoW Token sales, but in the long term their reputation with the fanbase takes a blow.

It’s a pretty pointless mount to remove from the vendor to be honest, seeing as you only need to obtain gold and it’ll go straight onto the BMAH, another gold sink. Something that’s more beneficial, in some aspects, would be removing the Mythic boss mounts at the end of an expansion (instead of the current nerf to 1% drop rate) as the challenge is no longer present.

It’s not even the utility for me, it’s just a cool mount and the only one of its kind.
With all the portals and quick ways to travel that we got nowadays, it’s only really a time saver if you still use an HDD. Like me, and even I just brave the loading screens to get to a capital city and use the auction house.

You’re usually so fond of low-effort mount recolours, Blizzard. Go on! Put one in!

sell away then
