Anyone actually playing mechagnomes?

If you think a ball of fur is more effort than decades of research that went into mechanization… I’m sorry, but you’re wrong.

Yes, although i’ve not leveled it at all yet

Gnome racial is the Best for melees. Root, slow, freeze removal is OP and especially with the reduced cd(in vanilla, tbc and Wrath used to be 1.75min and now is only 60 seconds).
Human is for pve expertise and thats all.
Night elf is for… Swifty?
Dwarf is kinda decent anti poison and bleed.
Draenei is ok for the selfheal but other than that naaaa.

I’ve seen like 2 , i play a lot

Newness has nothing to do with it, just look at how popular Vulpera are already.

The stats just don’t lie-- Alliance got royally shafted for the Allied Races. It’s hilarious the disparity between the general desirability of them between each faction.

‘General’, note that word, because it is actually important to not keep giving one faction niche taste races and the other universally popular ones. Blah blah you’ll see a handful of people say they love Mechagnomes and Kul Tirans, but just again look at the stats and see VERY few people share that opinion.

It actually matters in an MMORPG. It’d be ok if Horde got one of these niche taste races but they didn’t, Alliance got them all.

As you said. The complication of trying to get mog match their mechanical legs and arms is extremely hard, and limits you big time. They could’ve made normal arms/legs but put augments on them to make them look mecha-gnomey. So when you apply legs or chest piece mogs, it covers them.

Your transmog is extremely well done!

That’s why they desperately try to give the Alliance now belf-skins. They knew they have screwed up.

Trying to steer away from the Alliance Experience™.

Indeed even Void Elves were controversial. Yep, they are popular for an Allied Race-- but I’d put that down to the fact they simply are a pretty race, and secondly because a lot of people will simply accept that this is what they got instead of High Elves.

I just don’t see anything like that with ANY Horde Allied Race. Not a single one was actually considered a comedy race on forums by many, or mocked-- I mean fat humans (with fat dances), diaper robo-gnomes and blueberry elves.

Yes, people complain about Nighborne looking more like Night Elves than the NPC versions, but that’s done for technical reasons so they can use the same rig as the parent race-- yet they still got new animations. The only thing in fact that’s notably different is the shape of the eyes.

I actually like the fat humans, they are worthy of a slot. But they should simply have been an extension for the humans.

But it’s the communities’ fault as well. They always want humans in different flavors. Vrykuls and now blue ones. It’s a total embarrassment.

I like the Kul Tirans and Void elves. Love their heritage armour and hairstyles. I would play a Kul Tiran druid but don’t like their druid forms.

I’m waiting to unlock them in Shadowlands. Right now I am too busy levelling this toon.

Nop. While gnomes have a certain charm and even if I don’t have a single gnome alt myself. I can understand people’s choice in playing them.

Mecha gnome? Looks like a gnome who “lost an argument with a freight train” and is now running around with prosthesis.

Kul Tiran’s flaw is not their size, but some of their animations. I have a lady-druid, and she is absolute disaster in her human form casts, so every time I played healer, she used items to change her appearance. But KT characters look fine - since they look like normal human beings.

Another problem with my KT lady is that no other transmog that “hidden” or heritage looks good on her :frowning:

Personally I’m having a really hard time finding any.

I think I’ve spotted one level 120 Mechagnome - ever.

EDIT: Then again I’m literally the only Pandaren female mage I have ever seen.

I wouldn’t say I’m famous. I do leap into mechagnome bait threads to defend the honour a bit too much.

I consider Tinkspring the heavyweight champion of forum MGs, because the roleplay never stops with that one.

Regarding everyone else not playing mechagnomes, presumably it’s for the same reason barely anyone plays highmountain tauren, pandaren, mag’har or kul tirans. They’re to a niche taste.

I’m cool with that. I don’t mind being one of very few. I supply 8 max level mechagnomes to the stats all by myself. And I’ll still be running around the shadowlands as such even when folks are enjoying their customisations. Pax here will be taking the darkest skin tone, as was intended for him.

I’m currently leveling a 111 Mechagnome Hunter called Hixie, She’s rocking the heritage armor set. For some reason she isn’t on my list of characters I can post with. Hixie is BM and has two pets (so I could keep the one they start with). GentleBen the black bear and Hixagon the weird mechanopup thing. I’m having a lot of fun, I’m leveling a Dark Iron next for the armor.

Edit- forum is being very odd. Coralia is 120 it said 106 for ages.

It just updated so I can post on her now!

Mechahunter is awesome. My MM hunter has a rusty coloured crane and bumblebee for mandatory dispel/lust pets (thank lore for tranq shot in SL) and then I have the cyan mechascorpion, the mechanical sheep and one of the mechanical chickens.

People barely play regular gnomes, why would they play mechanized ones? Same goes for dwarves. People barely play regular and dark iron dwarves. Both Allied races are failure and waste of allied race spot. Should’ve added Sethrak and even tuskarr instead of this.
