Warrios can charge in combat in original classic too just saying.
Blizzard is changing balance on the daily right now, wouldn’t be weird at all.
8 yards is too much , 5 is enough . At times i am surprised that the visual distance from the mobs seems so big and you still can’t shoot. I can’t explain the feeling. Especially in dungeons when you are trying to glue yourself into the wall to shoot and it is still not happening.
Good that you have disengage, bad that you don’t know on which page of your spellbook it is.
stop necroing dead threads.
I dont think it is a dead thread at least for hunters. Everyone that have played hunter atleast ones this thought has crossed his mind " Why is that dead zone so big " ?
8 yards is 7.3 meters and it is just too much with nothing to compensate for it.
Half of the dungeons have small rooms and you find yourself going back in previous
room in order to dps because you are to close . And if there is double stairs with a platform it is getting even weirder because you are getting in line of sight going down the stairs.
Going up you are risking pulling something else.
I like the mechanic of having a dead zone but 5 meters is maximum for me of having
an “enemy in your face”.
I dont think normalizing this will lead to any unbalance between classes.
For me even with 5 yards dead zone hunters will be easy farm in arena.
We need lowering of the dead zone and a normal disengage on 30 sec cooldown to
get out of it and that will give us around 20% chance of being victorious in 1 on 1 duel.
Rogues and druids open at point black on you , warrior and mages have no problem closing the distance in 1-2 secound standing on you , warlocks may not need to exploit that.
Well in my vision threads about lowering the dead zone and disengage have to be up
all the time . They are fair asks.
why do you need something that is self-explanatory to be explained to you?
you have the deadzone because its supposed to counter the obvious advantage you get when you attack something from range.
and don’t tell me you are unable to do anything once someone breaks it.
pull out your sword and fight the horde, ya silly elf.
end of thread. thank you, please let it slip into the nether now.
Post created by the author was about existing of the dead zone. I myself like the dead zone but 8 yards is needlessly too much. It creates issues in smaller dungeon rooms.
This is something more like Pve oriented. And extra range given in no way can compensate for creating a dead zone in which you cant use your skills.
Hunters range is 35 , you give 5 then take 5 , why 8?
I see this more like a cosmetic change that in no way changes Pvp but still every hunter
will be grateful about.
it exists cause then hunters would be even more op, the whole counter to hunters was to stand right on top of them. But now that hunters are a melee class even thats gone.
Youre a broken class cause blizzard trolled with the original idea of how hunters were meant to be players
are you crazy ? we already have 2 buttons to click in melee, letting us use ranged abilities too will make the game broken and unusable.
Thank you guys for commenting thats the first thing i want to do .
I am 100% for having a dead zone and any future balancing made around that mechanic but let that dead zone be the melee range zone of 5 yards .
5 yards is enough for any melee class to stay on you and exploiting that zone.
May be some healer will have less time healing on me .
You have blinks , you have charges, you have stuns trough through which you can apply
dmg, powerful mitigation dmg skills. The only reliable cc i have is concussive shot on 20% stun chance if you invest points into it.
But i didnt start this posts about the Pvp balancing although for me having 5 or 8 yards
dead zone wont change much in Pvp, the outcome will be the same.
I came to the conclusion that the zone is too big in smaller spaces where you find yourself climbing chairs and tables to get out of that zone or visually you are kiting like 5 meters away and you cant pull that shot.
It is just strange classes complaining about little more dmg here, little more mana there
but needlessly long dead hunter zone is so fine.
and those 2 buttons is enough to 1-2 shot an enhancement shaman, so stop what you’re doing right now. you’re not getting the deadzone removed.
end of.
No, you’re clearly NOT for having a deadzone since you’re asking for it to be reduced or removed.
it will not be reduced, it should not be reduced. it is the one weakness your class has and its not going anywhere.
THIS IS CLASSIC, AND CLASSIC MEANS CLASSIC MECHANICS.
No.
Good. then we agree nothing needs to be done about it.
You’re not getting a buff, elf boy.
stop fishing.
“i mained [class] and came to the conclusion that i would like a buff, because i would like that”
what an absolute nothing-argument.
its not “needless” otherwise they’d have never made it in the first place.
removing it in retail was a mistake as well, they should have never done that.
you know what they need to do?
they need to make solid objects in the world LOS your ability to shoot at people.
nothing is lamer than being shot by a hunter through a wall or a massive tree trunk the size of yggdrassil while you’re standing on top of a branch or some stupid crap like that.
you are already enjoying way more advantages than you have any right to, hunter’s ability to free-shoot at people through solid objects needs to be nerfed if anything, not having their deadzone removed or reduced.
unbelievable.
Why would deadzone not exist in classic / even SoD.
The answer is beyond obvious…
But hey instead lets theorycraft? Would you be willing to give up your entire melee kit, every single aspect of melee hunter gone, to disable deadzone.
To me that is a obvious yes in terms of balance, but then it raises another topic regarding hunter flavor, and some do actually prefer melee and some would say just roll a real melee class instead.
up to you, im fair with either, but you cannot remove deadzone and think you can melee in any sense, hunters just aren’t build that way.
it is just part of the game mechanics for balance and or entertainement. ask me as a shaman about fire and elemental resistent enemies. pretty wack if you cant hurt normal mobs or tank certain bosses reliably.
Guys I have said , I am not for the removal of the dead zone but making it normal 5 yards .
On retail probably figured out that is too much of a hindrance that it creates for the class
to work around that and removed it completely. The fight ends the moment they get on you.
But lets leave all to the people who are balancing and testing to say what is fair.
you will have 8 yards deadzone and you will deal with it.
its not getting reduced bro, we’re not opening that door.
