Anyone else use this game as a replacement for their actual life?

As my sister would say, ‘get a grip’. Yes I have been unemployed, my family are my best friends, ‘nothing to do’ says many things, maybe you need help?

I never watch TV as there are SO many better and more fulfilling and interesting things to do. I spend more time on Youtube than WoW and have become quite fluent in Spanish, there is so much to learn! It’s all free too!

My cooking is so much improved, I grow lots of stuff in my tiny garden, make my own jerky, bacon, pastrami and chorizo, I made my own pot still (until my missus banned it) and learned what maths is all about.

Life is what YOU make of it, no-one else.

Wouldn’t call 70 years “relatively new” but ok…

I’m not saying that playing video games every now and then couldn’t be relaxing and help taking your mind off things for a while. But as someone already pointed out correctly earlier, moderation is key. Games won’t solve your problems nor will they cure health issues.

Well, it can be some crazy addiction there I think.

That said, I too play a lot, but I also have a 3 shifts job and I do some housework whenever necessary. Also, I’m not an outgoing person and I’m not really good in face-to-face convoes, preferring to chat mainly.

Even with all its flaws it’s quite the escape from real life. :slightly_smiling_face:

or wanted to send you some support

That’s definitely not my case.
I work and even though it’s just a 37.5 hours per week job is quite physical and some days I’m too exhausted to even play.

I have no patience for relationships.
I used to have 2 friends. One of them introduced me to WoW, back in 2005. Not anymore and I’m fine with that as well.

You like to be at home. So do I.

Aside from spending those days with my mother and sister, they don’t mean much to me anyway.

So would I if I was retired.
Do what makes you happy.

I turn off my :computer: it’s a waste of energy not to mention it needs to cool down every hour.

You care about your character. So do I.
For me it’s unthinkable to not logg off inside an inn or at least inside a city. I hate leaving my characters sleeping on the cold. Needless to say I hate when my characters die as well.

That’s not my case.

However I don’t like to travel, cars, going outside, talking, being with other people, etc.

I had friends in the past but I don’t feel the need to have them anymore.
I like being alone and living in solitude.
I need peace after work.
All my physical exercise, talking, socializing, meeting other people, being outside is done at work. Once I go back to my room I just want to be alone and rest for the rest of the day.

I understand where you are coming from.
Not everyone is the same and that’s perfectly fine so long as you are happy.

On my case I found out that WoW fulfills all my needs of entertainment.
Not only that, my body gets to rest.

Cheers.

Not as a replacement, but as a way to kill boredom and have a fun little hobby to have in life, so everything doesn’t get so boring and depressing. It’s like entering narnia on steroids

Id like to add u to my friends list in game… Is it possible?

No I don’t really like people, sorry. Well I do, kind of, but I don’t want any kind of intimate friendship in WoW that would be weird to me.

I haven’t always been this way I got hurt big time about a decade ago (typical story).

I wasn’t aware of that, but that changes the context of my post.

I use it like everyone else for relaxation and entertainment. I am all about the experience and not at all the escapism.

Not a good justification to recommending a dog as there’s far more things to consider than this which can be done without one.
