It is after all an Activision game, what else to expect…
I heard just a rumor that blizzard can ban you for using VPN to play.
Only if you circumvent regional pricing, not sure why they geoblocked the netherlands in the first place. the game is not illegal in any way, they probably don’t understand the “loot box” rules here.
all blizzard games are pay to win, nothing new here.
NEXT!
We knew that this will happen day they did announcement like 3 or 4 years ago?
you know because it’s a MOBILE GAME
The game is blocked because when you buy the loot box(es) you don’t get a specific item. You get a chance at a certain item and according to Dutch law that’s gambling and you need a gambling license for that. While I personally agree with you obviously my government does not. Cause it’s not like you can sell the item(s) you get from the loot box for RL money.
Can’t play it and I don’t want to.
The more likely outcome is they try to monetise PC games like that. Some F2P titles do monetise everything, thankfully it’s not popular in PC gaming.
I got the wings on d3, that’s it.
It’s F2P, so of course they have to get their profits from making the game from somewhere. I HATE P2W and microtransactions as you do, but if you take Diablo Immortal for what it is, it’s actually pretty decent for a chill mobile game to play when you’re on a train or travelling on holidays.
I won’t be putting any money into it, but I can’t complain when it’s literally free, unless you want to be competitive. Which in a mobile game; competitive and mobile game just sounds funny to me.
Diablo Immortal is popping off. Actually one of the reasons to port it to PC ISN’T Blizz fans asking for a PC port, but the popularity of services like Bluestacks. A lot of players play mobile games through Bluestacks. In fact, bluestacks is the reason why some mobile games have controller support. Yes, the phone supports a controller, but people play with a controller through Bluestacks on PC. Blizz realizes the PC market for mobile games.
I already went in depth regarding business strategy, brands and how burning your audience to gain short term profit is not the best strategy, especially in the eyes of investors. Investors realize the value of “brand games” whose main job isn’t as much as creating return on investment as it is maintaining the brand.
Dont you guys have phoones?
I’ll be playing the tutorial within 30 days for the free stuff but that’s about it.
I’m immune to P2W and freemium.
it is how mobile games works.
did you expect anything else ? did you expect a free game ?
I expected it to be less predatory. This is too much even for a phone game. There is a kind of monthly subscription like in wow that brings various benefits, battle pass, cosmetic things and worst of all various nonsense that significantly increases the player’s power, etc etc. There’s no thing they didn’t put in the shop, literally.

There is a wide spectrum to how mobile games earning work. Believe it or not but there are plenty of mobile games out there that make a ton of money without doing all the p2w that diablo immortal does.
i tried play it on pc, felt out of touch asf, boring. not for me.
Better wait for d4
It’s incredibly predatory and saying otherwise is disingenuous
Other free mobile games have p2w features but you cannot go 5 minutes without immortal asking you to give it some kind of money
its either that or ads. and diablo immortal is an expensive game to make and maintain. you should expect alot of ads if you choose this route.
the thing is, you compare a cheap mobile games to a diablo mobile game to a pc game. it just doesnt work that way, you cant ask for diablo to ask for the same amount some idle game asks.
Nice try wyatt chang but we all know this game is purely there to syphon as much money as it can out of people
