Rhey gave us exactly what was advertised how is it a scam.
Seems to me like Blizz Con was fast approaching, and they just heard so much talk amongst the community about a “classic +”
When management asked what is this Classic + , the team responds, it doesnt exist!
The response… “well make it exist damit! its all they are screaming about!” and boom, SoD was made in a day!
Same Game, bring forward some abilities, Pause leveling every few levels to give us breathing room to bring forward more spells, dont worry about testing anything, lets GOOOOO!!!
Dont take that as all negativity from me though, I have played SoD… HARD lol but my steam is running out atm yea, Mainly time to kill and balance, meeting virtually any class that can 1 shot you from 100-0 in a cast, its like a Country and Western stand off… whoever goes first, wins.
While people moan at this now, I am ok with the game as it is, just do what makes you happy if that involves taking a break til P3, thats ok but my main issue is going to be lv60.
once we stop leveling, im just hoping we can get stuff balanced out a bit, and Time to kill actually involve some skill, instead of just Bestial Wrath or 1 Chain lighitng > Lava blast = dead
I agree though, SoD with a proper dev team & budget , coulda been huage!
Looking at some of the replies I want to address some comments made with my opinion
So regarding the grind - some people mentioned WSG and AB rep grinding. Which would be completely awesome if there was a reward, but there just isnt. Why not have a legendary PVP weapon or something for hitting exalted? Its not a balanced game as everyone agrees, so why not have a REAL reason to hit exalted. At the moment there is no reward from exalted that beats the gear from Gnomer.
Another thing I saw was about this being a “second game” that people play, and it shouldn’t be the main game. Which I really dont agree with. This has the potential to be a main game for sure, it just needs a few bits added in to make it happen. Look at STV, most players dont bother with it anymore because after maybe 3/4 runs, you had all the coins for the items and have no need of going there (Outside of the mount). Why is this? Why not have it so every 50 silver coins you can upgrade your ring by a small margain, and do this multiple times? Just a thought?
The last thing is a comment about playing alts is part of the game, which I can see why you would think that, but I and many others simply dont want to level more characters up. I know the only class I want to play is priest, and I just wish there was more to do.
Why not add Mythic + maybe? Or a legendary questline, and by that I mean legendary?
I understand the team is small, but if you want to keep a real community I believe these things will help
Yeah you’re not getting that. You’re either getting a new class to cry about or you become the class people are crying about.
So what I read here is, you don’t want to play an alt. That is fine.
Then I guess your main is set for next phase?
You have all weapon skills leveled to max, you have both main and most secondary professions leveled to max, you have “good” amount of gold so you don’t have to grind next phase at least not from start, you have WSG and AB rep at exalted and mostly you learned to play your main class at top level, both pvp and pve, you are bis geared for both pvp and pve?
I guess most answers are “no”, yet people will cry about “no content”.
You have plenty of things to do beside raid log. They made leveling alts easy, so people like you have things to do, level alt and raid log with it, if that fits your playstyle.
Im sure a fair few classes the wrists from hitting exalted with your WSG faction is way better than any wrists that we have the ability to get at the moment, but sure nothing beats the gear from Gnomer (for you as a priest its true that there are better healing wrists from Gnomer sure)
There are a solid rewards besides that nice blues which become available once we hit 60
It’s added, you can enjoy it on retail
it helps for tryhards like you
i… i don’t think sod lvl 25 and 40 were meant to be endgame stuff. that is what level 60 is for. just pull some twinks up. enjoy the time where u can play BGs with “end-gear”. it is just a phase.
or switch over to the oder modes of wow. for a few weeks.
let the hand full of Dev. do their hard work and fullfill a fun alt.version of wow vanilla.
Hopefully P2 is feeling a bit slower because they are working on later brand new stuff like Kara crypts. A post naxx scarlet raid where you cleanse the ashbringer. A furbolg raid/instance in azshara through the big iron doors. A new raid/hard instance behind the big golem/iron doors in BRD. And a new golem/dwarf raid in tanaris down south…
Looks like they are already changing Tier sets are the dungeon set has some insane bonuses being shown on some datamining.
It’s definitely a much slower pace right now. It basically feels like they are just spreading it out with super minor stuff in the leveling sections and hopefully 60 is like… As good as can be for the majority as possible
Whats the difference in “endgame” between a new lvl 40 raid for 8-10 weeks or Molten Core for 2-3 months before BWL?
Endgame is Endgame. It’s the current highest reachable point in the game.
yeah… no… the initial game is still the same. it has just one more kiddy-level raid. at 60… oh my. all the pvp ranks, all the raids and T0.5 dungeons.
it was not set up like that. just chill my bro. bubble and wait for it all to blow over. it will be good in the end, and if it is not good, it is not the end yet hug
What i was talking about is that we have a specific “raid” as “endgame” content for the moment and this pattern continues through the whole expansion.
Just because we stay level 60 after MC when we go to BWL does not make it any more valueable endgame then going from BFD on lvl 25 to Gnomer on lvl 40 and to Sunken Temple on lvl 50.
What matters is the time players are playing specific content as “endgame” content.
When we are raiding 10 weeks of Gnomer before Sunkten Temple it’s essentially the same as raiding 10 weeks of Molten Core before BWL.
And to say they can edited by moderator things up because it’s not the actual endgame…well…then one could also say they can edited by moderator things in MC, BWL and AQ because only Naxx is endgame.
There’s plenty of stuff to do. Sure, you can raidlog once you get all the gear, but if your only goal is getting gear, then its a very narrow-minded one. This is no different to any other version of WoW. You get gear, you get your professions, suddenly you have “completed everything”. No, gearing your char isn’t everything. What will Mythic+ accomplish, apart from further stat bloat which will wreak havoc on balance even more? All you are gonna do is spam Mythics for a week or two, and then you’ll complain that you, once again, have nothing to do.
SoD benefits the WPvPer and BG hero the most, as those types of players do not require additional content. The PvP is their content, as long as it is enjoyable, and despite all the QQ on this forum, it is enjoyable.
Either way, this isn’t even the true level cap. I personally wasn’t expecting there to be loads of stuff to do, or stuff to be timegated further, or anything of the sort. And neither should anyone else. This phase is meant to be another preparation step towards the true level cap. You are meant to prepare your character, playing him whenever you feel like, do some PvP or PvE so you can familiarize yourself more with the mechanics of the class grind, stock up on mats that will be valuable in later phases, and so on.
Do you want developer time to be spent on these inbetween early phases? Because lets say they did and you had some more stuff to do, that would delay the next phase, and you’d still complain eventually that there’s nothing to do, perhaps 1 month later. Or would you rather have development time be spent more on the later phases, so that they are more fleshed out and you actually have more stuff to do at 50-60? I’d rather delay gratification for a better experience at the true endgame than have all the resources be spent on the irrelevant earlygame
Well tbh playing levelstopp pvp on lvl 70 at the end of Cataclysm was enjoyable. SoD pvp is a mess. No diminishing returns, 40 sec CCs, badly designed insignia with too high cooldown, no resilience, no pvp-might, PvE dmg = PvP dmg, crappy map design that allows terrain abuse…
I do not enjoy the pvp in this iteration of WoW at all.
And I do not enjoy cata pvp at all, as it ruined my class and the way damage was dealt overall (lol early cata 1v1 fights taking 5+ minutes). Wotlk was superior. To each their own.
lol 1v1…
1v1 fights taking 5+ minutes bodes even worse for group play. Arena matches cant end without dampening in such scenarios, and dampening existing means the game isnt designed properly. But enough derailing.
The only thing they can add is some dungeon that are worth doing and getting some bis items from. not everything needs to be from the raid
So rude. Spoiled brat just like the OP.
He got decked out in his first raid and got bored.
Delusional…
Here’s another take on it. There was no incentive to go for the rewards as the amount of time it took to solo farm the rep or even in a small party was stupid compared with what you could just as well get in few months of raiding. There’s the useless grind for you.
Ppl got exalted as a byproduct when pushing for r14 or like i did once i wanted to get Justicar title i just had to grind a bit the bgs since i already was almost exalted by then just from playing over time.
They did all a favor making that rep accessible. Now that gear isn’t just some pixels nobody sane will waste the time to get.
We don’t know what’s to come, maybe they add even some blues in the new raid or reworked dungeons and make those epics from exalted rep obsolete from the get go, but players at least have that option now, equip smth instead running around with green shoulders with 2% hit.
Heroic dungons =) you get tokens so y can buy out good items =) Elites hit you harder, have more hp =)
