"We had to approach this issue in two steps. First, we fixed the bug a couple of days ago, so that it won’t happen to players who max their Archaeology.
Second, we’re working on a fix for players who hit that point before the first hotfix. This fix is a work in progress, and we don’t have an ETA on it just yet."
I hear that if you complete a race fully, it reduces the zone spawns by 50%
Im not sure how true that is but if it is correct then not being able to complete races due to buggy artifacts, thats the biggest troll by blizzard so far

I am fully done with nerubian and vrukyl, i still see just as many of those spawns instead of Night elf and Troll in northrend. Either it isnt true, or its not working properly.
I noticed from a reddit post, maybe it isnt working properly then, it is definitely in the 4.1 patch notes.
This is FALSE! A guildie of mine is getting just as many troll digsite spawns than he did before he completed it. - Yes he has zinroth and all others aswell.
Don’t think the idea is false. But probably more like working just as well as the rest of the prepatch has.
Hundreds of dwarf, fossil and troll and I’m still missing some greys in the first two.

No, you are wrong. Some of them have 1g cost, others have 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200g. More cost= less chance. Check wowhead
Is 7% chance among other rares. Also you need to learn some math
More realistic chance to get sword is (3/17)0.07100%
Which is ~1.26%

Oh I have another tip for you gambling addicts if you solve your troll ones in ZG you get the sword first try, honest
There’s also a vendor in Shatt, a nice dude sells lucky items for helping with Archaeology
Anyone who says this is a terrible design and they have no idea what blizz where thinking about when they made it…your all pumping crazy amounts of time digging dirt in a computer game for fun

It would be hilarious if blizz where hiding bugs from us and there is issues with archaeology and didnt want to tell people because they will flip out

What’s funny is that when you first start solving, your chance for rares is super high to get people hooked and then pull a rug after they’re deep enough. 101 drug dealer marketing scheme. Must be fun for someone with limited time 8D

I have over 170 troll solves and no sword
One thing that did used to happen in 2010 was when you were finished surveying an area, there was a chance that the area you just surveyed would be the next zone on your map and you could do it again. It was nice and felt like when you get a sweet x3 survey all in the same spot for maximum dopamine.
That doesnt seem to happen now at all
I’d really like to hear some actual communication from Blizzard on this issue to clarify what’s available and what’s not atm. Some commons and rares are straight unattainable, and impossibility of finishing them doesn’t bode well for the Tolvir grind.

You say this but in OG cata prepatch you were able to get all of the common items and rares. In Classic cata you can’t. No one knows if this is intended or not. No one can go and read all the information in the world because it is wrong.
We all know the prepatch realease has been buggy as hell and there are obvious bugs, but think how many unknown bugs their are. Especially with Archaeology where a lot of the coding behind stuff is unknown and stuff could go wrong without anyone being the wiser about it.
