I though Stannis was well written in the show.
Season 8 though… Yeah that was the best show ever made dragged straight down to hell next to Batwoman.
Yeaaah…Not really.

You do know him burning her was theory for years before the show did it right?
I liked Garrosh for his tactical thinking.
Those who had wronged/were wronging him, he dealt with.
Blood Elves, Night Elves and Humans were all causing a great deal of trouble for him (Blood Elves jumping ship, Night Elves stealing the divine bell and Humans - well he always hated them anyway, but Jaina with securing the Divine Bell in Darnassus as well.)
He dealt with them all brilliantly and didn’t need to lift his pinky finger.
Yes, I am a Garrosh fan. He had his clear reasons to be at war with both the Humans and Night Elves.
In principle Baine is a good guy with good intentions, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Oh, and he’s also a massive beefy traitor and Alliance conspirator. And plenty in the Horde will still see him that way.
Our leadership contenders are a little whacked right now. Let’s see how this council will pan out
Oh well, that magically turns it into good writing then, gotcha.
Very true, I used to be a Campfire supporter, but Gorrosh have won me over… I just need a bumper sticker to put on ma behind when I’m in travelform, so I can show my support
On topic: I really liked the character Warchief Garrosh Hellscream, I think he fitted the role well in the expansions up to MoP
I would love to have a warchief like that again.
I wasn’t a fan myself, I hated him from the time he was put in power by Thrall until he finally died in Warlords.
We regularly see ‘Garrosh did nothing wrong’ and other such things on the forums though. Some are obviously just jokes but plenty thought he was the right kind of leader for the Horde before he was corrupted by the Sha.
I am a not with group that say ‘he was a wonderfull leader’… If I was pulled into WoW under his regime (and Sylvanas) I would hate being horde, and be really really scared most of the time
But since we do have more insight in the world as a character, I think he made the horde side more interesting
I think he did, but the character was built up to have a strong, deep-seated hatred towards both Humans and Kaldorei, which is why the Siege of Theramore worked so well, because during it’s defense, their were a lot of Humans and Night Elves in the city. The idea that Garrosh could kill both Jaina and Shandris, as well as others, in 1 swift stroke was too good to miss.
I also think, if Garrosh had been leading things in this expansion, then the attack on the Night Elves would have made more sense, as it would have been him to call the shots, not Varok and it would have been his plan to execute the final decision on Darnassus.
I have to say, from Cataclysm to 5.2, Garrosh Hellscream held all the cards and both factions were under his whim, to an extent.
During the period in which Garrosh was Warchief, the Horde and Alliance were locked in a very severe power schuffle. Maybe not outright war, but Theramore was a military foothold for the Alliance right on the doorstep to Orgrimmar.
Where was the Horde-equivalent strongpoint just outside Stormwind? Theramore was literally the Cuban Missle Crisis for Garrosh’s Horde!
The Alliance are imperialistic. They see Theramore as fine but if the Horde did the same, they’d call it an evil land-grab. Worse, the Alliance put innocent lives there both due to their own belief in their Manifest Destiny and as a sickening plow to divert aggression away from their own aggressive foothold in Kalimdor!
If people were and still are willing to dine on the boots that Sylvanas lays before them then there are people willing to follow Baine for not wanting to start a war for the sake of war
id join him if i had a choice
Seriously:
One warchief i would follow and fight for as an orc.
Jokingly:
Everytime someone who is playing Mag’Har orc warrior gets Tusks, one more Garrosh cosplayer is born.
No. Garrosh betrayed the Horde. Garrosh betrayed all of “us”.
Vol’jin was not confident about Garrosh because he (Garrosh) treated the trolls like they were trash and nothing to the Horde.
Thank you for spreading the message my fellow future subject.
SHOULDER ON
Imagine a Troll saying that he misses his true Horde (where he isn’t even allowed btw)
I agree. I love Sylvanas and Garrosh seems a cool character, but if they continued as Warchief I would hate playing Horde.
He did eventually, but I’d say faults were on both Vol’jin and Garrosh’s side.
Vol’jin didn’t respect him anyway and Garrosh never listened to either Vol’jin or Cairne, so I’d say that faults were on both sides.
However; the brilliant thing about Garrosh was he was able to get those who had wronged him, in line.
The Blood Elves were planning on joining the Alliance, yes I know he was mistreating them, but in his mind and looking at it, he shot two birds with one stone.
Not only did he punish the blood elves through Jaina and a source outside of Silvermoon, but he also brought them back to the Horde and under his thumb. All without lifting a finger.
I have to say, I can’t question his tact. It was solid.
To be realist you wouldn’t have an actual good leader always seekin war for the sake of war, it isn’t what the Horde is about at the core.
