I always got the impression Dragonflight, with the talk of ‘closed chapters’, a timeskip and a focus on… well dragons returning a ‘healing world’ - always got the impression Dragonflight was intended as a soft reset.
We have ‘closed chapter’ talk, dragons returning in force, centaurs, gnolls being the main focus of the early days in certain zones etc, it all being fairly light hearted. To me it just screamed and screams soft reset. So I’d be surprised if they weren’t sticking around.
-what- it’s resetting to is another question, but that’s how it feels.
That’S pretty much where my question comes from. I see the soft reset as well, I just don’t see what they are building up for the future except the usual cosmic background stuff. I have a hard time seeing how they would use really any of the dragonisles stuff in the future. But that might once again just be me.
What if they plan on rotating zones for various revamps for smaller-scale, localized heroic stories? If that were the case, then the Dragon Isles would be last in line as the newest zone.
Imagine: Elwyn, Durotar, Dun Morogh, etc. all receiving cosmetic updates, new non-epic storylines, quests without cosmic consequences. Imagine it. Don’t think about anything else, just imagine it.
