I wouldnt say I hate rare items. But after some 13 years or something of farming the mount (and yeah first year of the pet) it gets a little tiresome.
Especially given how its only farmable for 2 weeks out of 52. And I dont want to begin thinking about how many people ive seen start playing the game, get it within their first 5 kills and quit the game weeks or months later.

I got it on some of the first days.
This is just not a Tutorial…
I’ve done this every single day on 10+ chars, all taking full curses, none failing; Majority not even failing to get 1 single debuff.
It has still not dropped.
This pet is really just making it more sour for me …
RNG shouldn’t be this bad.
I have a feeling after Halloween event is over, Arfus will appear in-game store.
It should NEVER have been a dungeon drop, thats just lazy devs.
It should have been a pet available from the vendor for at least 200 sticky treats.
How many players are deleting those because they have everything they wanted from the vendor who has had the same stuff for years?
Nah. Much easier for lazy devs to stick it in the dungeon drop list to make people spam the bejesus out of it to make the annual slog the RNG to try and not simply decide for twenty billion masks and brooms.
Also amusing to note the people who are tutting loudly at people like me who give up after god knows how many attempts and are sick of deleting squashlings and brooms and telling us “rng isnt that bad a system” usually have both the mount and the pet.
Arfus should NEVER have been a drop.

Well, I got lucky on the last day and just dropped Arfus.
Now just the mount to go.
I got the manuscript ill never use, got a million squashlings, got the helm sword and mount which i already had. No Arfus. 20 minutes every queue and it was all for nothing…

Do you know what’s even worse… Someone had to spam general chat and pay others to complete the wand achievement as this game has only seasonal content which means theres hardly anyone around to do it with late into the season…
Taking holiday events seriously and letting FOMO of not getting holiday goodies get to you is best way to burnout.
And blizzard instead of fixing it is leaning into this bs even more, used to be headless horseman mount and now when lot of people have it, instead of fixing the events and make it enjoyable for players they come up with “briliant” idea of implementing another low drop chance nonsense instead.
Also for example do oyu know how halloween event looks in Final fantasy 14? You do quest about 20 minutes long with a nice story and you get cool emote and housing item as a reward. Then you can fool around in costumes that you want in a haunted garden and haunted mansion (it is not really haunted it is halloween decorated with pumpkins and cats and little ghosts everywhere). No FOMO, no BS, reward is guaranteed if you are willing to do the quest.
In elder scrolls online you can go kill a boss just like headless horseman but the cool toy you already get for the prequest and boss drops interesting and usefull loot that is not mandatory. Also ALL bossess in whole game are dropping extra loot in bonush crates that containt various things, from holiday themed transmogs to crafting recipes for stuff like furniture and also lot of crafting materials and other stuff that is usable outside of the event for normal crafting. If you do some event achievements which are rather easy to do you can buy a coven house for cheap gold price.
Meanwhile in this game we are killing same stupid boss for almost 20 years and some people still dont have the mount he drops. So sure lets slam another impossible to get dog into his loot table it will fix everything.
