Argent Dawn is a WPvPer’s heaven

There’s a lot of neat features to warmode in the BFA areas, why not go for there?
Cities are RP hubs, if someone’s doing a quick fly by with a group to get the achi for killing a faction leader that’s fine, but actively turning a capital city into a warzone on an RP server? please don’t

I’ve seen other people randomly make this claim as well to people they disagree with and it’s weak, without proof it feels like this is something people just shout in order to discredit others while hoping it sticks, based on my experience on RP realms something that happens more often then not unfortionately;
I’ll ask the same thing I ask of them.
Post your proof.

Yes, that is what I am referring to. I mean it is pretty obnoxious behaviour in real life, so why not in game?

I completely agree, sometimes I go to a pub and want to chatter and natter to the people at the bar, sometimes I want to go and do the crossword in the paper. Difference is that I am physically present, and if someone addresses me, I am -there- and will respond, as opposed to just remaining silent and not replying. This isn’t about shy characters, or even those who may wish to be roleplaying those with social anxiety, but about people who literally are just watching RP like people watch a play or TV. It isn’t -weird- to want to do so, but as I say, Actors tend to get paid…

This Thread.

Honestly read it and don’t pick the bits that could be misconstrued, read it with a shred of honesty and see where you can find any part saying that the OP intended to follow the rules that have existed since the Realm was created, and not pervert the purpose of the realm purely because the realms do not say that they cannot. Also check their repeated refusal to state whether they regard someone -should- do something, just because they -can-, Come on, get with the party line, as someone in the PCU you should be absolutely pro-RP, not anti the preservation of the realm for its purpose?

Maybe they’re RPing as background characters. Those tend to get paid as well.
But serious, sometimes I just walk around in the city. Not doing anything else, just walking.
It’s my RP I guess, Walking RP haha. :upside_down_face:

I used to see quite a few of those. But those weren’t OOC but RPers, with a filled out MRP profile and everything. They just stood there, not approachable at all.
I sometimes jokingly refered to it as Statue RP.

They do indeed, but trust me, not enough! Contrast £10 for being a extra in a soap opera, where you have to rock up and hang around all day, spending £30 to get there and not getting the money back!, with £75 for seven hours work on a Training exercise for Charity workers going to ‘at risk’ countries where you still end up £50 ahead of the game, then I know which I will take… Yeah, Extra’s pay sucks, but it is a door opener.

Which is cool, because sometimes people just do that. I do that. I have ideas I mull through in my head, and I like pacing whilst I do so, so I walk and I think. If someone says hello I don’t just freeze and stare at them though.

Yeah, its awkward, I mean you can be a level 1 in scruffy grey basic clothing, but I will still RP with you! Just RP! Maybe you’re slumming it, or you ruined your best clothes or you were doing some weird Henry V Pre-Agincourt disguise thing, I mean I do get it. I really do. I always prefer to only RP when I have my gear ready. I need -that look-. and am not happy RPing without it, so I do completely get that. Difference is, until I have that, I don’t -try- to RP, just stick to OOC levelling and grinding gear…

You kinda have to if you’re typing an 5+ sentence emote on how you notice and greet them.

Is that not below the minimum wage?

Only thing interests me in your post is there is no sharding . I’m not interested in RP event a slightest bit. Sorry to say that but those rp events looks cringe to me . There is a reason why none of those happens in non rp servers and it is because no one is interested in them.

So you’re saying people interested in RP roll on RP realms… well I’ll be damned who would’ve thought.

Maybe i wrote that because he wrote this?

OMFG your a genius

Yes i am but you seem like don’t know how to read

I apologize

Slight bias, hm?

It depends on the players, like you’re used to see it in actual normal gameplay content. Some events are stellar with big parades, group activities and actual engaging drama (witch trial at the cathedral during the Void Elves’ initial appearance).

It really depends with whom you’re RPing, obviously.

Maybe put a quote in your post to show who who and what you’re talnking about xD

If it were contractual, yes it would be, £10 is probably actually well above the minimum wage, because as with Voice Acting (much to my chagrin) you get paid PFH, or ‘Per Finished Hour’ so only for the actual time ‘on screen’ or ‘speaking’. I don’t get paid for preparing lots of soothing drinks to tone my voice, pre-reading the chapter, any practice warm up routines I use to get my voice limbered up, and all the techno-tidying up of the recording afterwards, I just get paid for the finished product, which if it took four hours in total to produce, but was One hour in duration, I’m getting paid for the one hour. (This is why every VA’s dream job is Audiobooks, as they tend to be royalties based when it comes to pay) Extra work is kind of similar, in that you are only actually paid for the time on screen, (which is usually fleeting) although mostly they make remuneration for your expenses to a degree, to maintain goodwill. Now if you are a professional Extra, it tends to be different, but then the lines blur between being an Extra, and a card carrying Equity ‘Luvvie’

And that is fine, and indeed dandy, in which case you have a wide variety of servers you can play on, so there is no real need for you to come to the only RP server, if you have no interest in RP.

They don’t. They don’t ‘Look cringe’. Something cannot ‘look cringe’. That is not how the word works, it is an action, not a description. A person can cringe, a situation can be cringeworthy, or make someone want to cringe, but cringe is not a stand alone word that way, Just a pointer.

Now, as to whether RP events look cringeworthy, I would argue that point, essentially we are talking people acting as other people, I mean that is the essence of RP, -Playing- a -Role- in a setting. It is that simple. Have you ever watched drama on TV, or seen a Film? That’s what it is (Except they get paid much more, going back to Coldshade’s point!). Keanu Reeves is not John Wick. Keanu Reeves is pretending/acting. John Wick is not a real person. There is fundamentally no difference between roleplaying and acting, I mean an actor is by definition, roleplaying, they’ve just found a way of making money out of it! So really, RP is no more, or less when it comes to being cringeworthy, than the sort of thing you will happily watch on stage, on the silver screen, or on the gogglebox at home.

Well, I kind of think you answered your own observation there, really. RP isn’t for everyone, which is fine, some people don’t like books or reading, I guess they don’t go to many libraries. Would be a bit weird if they went to a library and complained about it being full of books, because books are ‘cringe’, No? I mean that would be really odd…

Same with RP. Not interested in it? That’s all kinds of fine and tickety-boo, the world is pretty much your oyster in terms of picking a server. Do like it? Fantastic, Argent Dawn caters to that market.

It really is that simple. Have fun with your PvP or PvE escapades!

Man, there is nothing wrong with you enjoying rp. It looks cringe TO ME. You can enjoy it however you want but rp events is not a charming point for non rpers. And also i’m saying it again

I only wrote that cuz of

Isn’t it kinda logical to assume it’s an answer to first post in the forums  I’ll take your advice next time.

And this is why we can’t have nice things here. You could have easily said it differently but you went for something more disgusting. Next time, just go with “It’s not my cup of tea”, it sounds way more polite anyway.
