Added under Websites, since many roleplayers are interested in reading WoW books and short stories:
The Ultimate Guide to Warcraft Lore in Print - If you’d like to get your hands on WoW literature outside the game but are unsure where to begin, Blizzard Watch maintains a guide listed in chronological order. This means that instead of being listed by when the material was published, it’s being listed by its order in the Warcraft lore timeline so you can start at the beginning and read your way all to the end if that’s your desire.
Added Musician in the AddOn section given how often it’s used at music, entertainment and market themed events.
Musician - Musician allows your character to play music that can be heard by the other players nearby, provided that they have installed the add-on as well. Any song file in MIDI format can be played. There are 24 instruments available including lute, harp, trumpet, violin, war horn but also drum kit and electric guitar. It’s also possible to perform live music using your computer keyboard as a piano. Related plugin: MusicianFX
Edit: On that note, also added Watch2Gether under Websites.
Added links to a couple other lore channels under Tips, to help new and returning players quickly catch up on the setting. Also added a section explaining what the in-game communities are used / useful for.
If you have suggestions for sections that would be particularly helpful for new or returning players, please do let me know.
Ironically I spoke yesterday on a discord about how useful a lore compendium would be from someone like you Acrona.
As a mention of thought, could it be possible to include “resources” for all the different races as well in a section? In case someone looks for specific backgrounds? Maybe also for classes (if not already present)?
I think this is already quite extensively covered by Warcraft Wiki front page, where there’s links to the lore of all the playable races, classes and professions:
However, maybe there could be a separate “Lore Resources” section in the Compendium, where I could compile the video channels, Warcraft Wiki and a few other resources. I’ll think on it!
As long as they are linked it should be useful enough.
Imagine it like this. If we have this Forum Compendium post complete, RP guides like me can just point at this thread and its links and the player has an easy point to go to when no guidance from another player is atm possible.
Including links to the Warcraft Wiki front page and such would be enough imo.
Warcraft Wiki is already linked under the Websites section - perhaps the overall structure suffices for now, but will think on if a separate Lore section would be warranted!
Hey, thank you for sharing!
Unfortunately I get the following error when opening the URL (without the gaps and '), and thus can’t check the PDF:
