Arts, creativity

Not OC at all, but credit where it is due. The cinematics department at Blizzard really brings locations to life, and seeing Orgrimmar this way was just cool.

I agree! Every time we see known in-game locations in these beautifully rendered cinematics Iā€™m stoked.

Present day Orgrimmarā€™s walls seem to be part stone, reinforced with metal.

This makes it a hybrid of vanilla and cataclysmā€™s designs. Intentional, I wonder?

Also wow Orgrimmar looks so much less dry ingame.

Iā€™m toying with the idea of getting another commission. I loved the Akamito one so much that itā€™s opened the floodgates.

For the majority of my WoW career so to speak I roleplayed a male Night Elf warrior, and Iā€™ve always wanted to see him brought to life. But I worry that if I proceed I might end up just constantly getting commissions done.

Itā€™s a spiral you canā€™t escape.

I just donā€™t want to end up like Telaryn. Heā€™s in here what feels like every week with a new bit of art. Iā€™m not sure my wallet can sustain it.

I currently have 2 more commissions pending from other artists too :see_no_evil: Youā€™re wise to be cautious! :money_with_wings: (But do it)

If I had the money Iā€™d be here every other day most likely, haha. Iā€™ve so much art I want to get.

Iā€™m considering it for my Void Elf, but Iā€™m always late to the punch when it comes to reserving a commission spot. Silver lining being that Iā€™m not quite an art addict yet!

I had this piece of an angry Mythundis commissioned from Aloija:

All credit goes to Aloija! Aloija is an absolute joy to work with. She was most eager to take all my changes, and Iā€™d recommend her to anyone.

Myth is looking mighty good! I love the feral expression and the sharp features. One of my upcoming commissions is actually coming from the same artist and Iā€™m eagerly awaiting the next update!

Iā€™ve always known Argent Dawn has a lot of artists but dayumn thereā€™s many! I love the variety and diversity in both technique and skill level - we can all improve and learn from each other! The Discord community also had a very welcoming atmosphere

I can stop any time I want, I donā€™t have a problem

How many you got pending at the moment?

None, actually. All my commissions finished. Iā€™m not really happy about one of them because the artist went radio silence and offered no WIPs along the way what so ever, then one day 4 months later came all ā€œHey itā€™s finished!!ā€ and turns out they took their own liberty and made up details out of their hat and Iā€™m like :grimacing:

On the bright side, Acrona offered to do some fixes and the artist gave their permission so thereā€™s a silver lining I guess.

Legendary.

As a seasoned commissioner, letā€™s call you Gordon, any recommendations for some artists?

Not that I am doing anything with this information. Iā€™m just window shopping. nervously holds his wallet

I can recommend Ryan Caesar who did this commission of my Breton.

Absolute stand up guy. Worked really fast, made fixes on the spot with no problem, communication was on point and the end result was great. Couple of my guildies commissioned him and they were pretty satisfied with his work too.

His prices were also ridiculously cheap, although the side effect of that is that he has a really long queue. I usually feel bad when artists under sell their work for cheap, but I guess with his clientele his business model is really working out for him. If he ever has space in his queue, Iā€™d like to commission him again one day. Just couple days after he finished my commission, a guildie contacted him and he had already accumulated 4 monthsā€™ worth of customers in under a week, and the man spent 3 days per piece.

Hereā€™s his ArtStation, and artistsnclients pages.

Another one I can also recommend is Gengi who did the recent commission of my squire seen above. Iā€™ve been looking for that kind of painted cartoon style for a long time now and I knew I had to get it when I found him. He only had 1 slot left too so I couldnā€™t pass on the chance. He was easy to communicate with and he worked fast. He made any requested changes quickly and was very understanding.

Hereā€™s his artistsnclients page.

Anthony Avon was also a pretty cool guy to work with. Heā€™s one of the first artists I ever commissioned, and the first one to do art of my orc Kara. His prices are pretty high, but the quality also reflects that. Definitely worth it if you can afford his prices.

Of course everyone Iā€™ve commissioned is more or less someone I endorse, but this page would be long if I listed all of them. Those 3 are my favourites.
