Ban warglaives from arena

You dont get it, glaives arent the problem, rogues in general are. But thats how TBC works, enjoy s3 it will get even worse with s4 and 4/4 T6 4/4 s4 glaive rogues.

I’ve never claimed rogues aren’t OP, but touching class balance is on a completely different level than simply banning unfair items that give you an edge over other players in arena.

You yourself choose to mention T6 glaive rogue as something worse than a simply normal PvP geared rogue.

If your point is that if the class is already OP it doesn’t matter if you allow cheat items that make it even more OP, well, then that is just beyond absurd.

News flash: WoW PvP is not balanced, it never was and it never will be. If you want to prove your amazing skills and reaction time go play tekken or dota or something.

Templets were the worst thing ever happening to wow.

No. Can’t wait to auto win arenas beacuse people will instaleave upon seeing my glorious glaives.
Then again, theres probably gonna be people that will just straight up buy the glaives or a rogue with glaives and they will lack the skill to capitalize on having them

I see you’re a man of culture as well.

The point still stands. If arena weapons are not the “go to” weapons for arena, than the design is flawed. And the same is true for any piece of arena gear.

So what if the design is flawed it have been since day 1 untill sometime way later in the games life, when the rank gear was the bis gear for pve for half of vanilla I didnt see many of the PvP players moaning about how their gear shouldnt be a factor in pve, or when the arena wepons were for a few classes their bis wepons in the earlier phases ether

this is not some esprots just a mmorpg side activity for fun

no. it was a step in the right direction.
not a single good game has gear

No… this is the problem these items where in tbc and in arena keep it the way it is stop changing x,y,z and just play the game the way it supposed to be played please just have fun if you want to be competitive then make the s tier classes and play them for rank 1.

This is something only bad players would complain about. Stop finding excuses for the fact that you can’t get Glad title, im gona say it now you are not geting it because you are bad at arena.

Some multi glad, 2.7k+ constant rating player will never complain about this because a random Joe with a warglaive or 2 will still not win vs him because of skill gap. And such a player will win vs you with or without warglaives.

And before you bash me about my rating or stuff like this - i’m also bad at arena but at least i know and i’m not blaming the weather outside for me being hardstuck at x rating.

And its not like everyone and their grandmother will get them, how many people do you see with Ashes of A’lar? wich is basicly a single item drop not 2 distinct drops like glaives.

not really relevant if people are good or not. the same principle here applies to pve. warglaives for exampel are bad. just how the belt was bad for pvp: battle chicken stacking, lust stacking, PI, hysteria etc narrow the competitiveness of pve

But if wind blows outside I can’t focus enough :frowning:

You guys are really over exaggerating how strong the glaives are. The haste proc might be great for DPS, but the weapons themselves are just slightly more damage than normal weapons.

One of the bonuses to the glaives doesn’t even apply to PVP because you’re not a demon.

It’s not like the WoTLK or Casterclysm legendaries that had an incredibly strong proc on-top of BiS stats. I’d rather deal with every rogue having glaives than have to deal with even 2% of frost mages having Tarecgosa’s Staff of Balance.

i think its also visuals that play a role. kinda same like the taunka trinket in wotlk that is so intimidating while there are far worse(better) trinkets but they dont transform you into a huge taunka that smacks you.

thats the beauty about mmorpgs so many things to blame except your own skill :stuck_out_tongue:

Casterclysm had something similar with Fangs of the Father. The visuals were great, but the weapons themselves were incredibly weak compared to previous legendaries. Actually, Deathwing dropped an Epic 2h Sword that had a proc that was stronger than them.

People back then cried on the forums about the daggers in PVP, except it wasn’t the daggers that rekt them; it was a trinket. Vial of Shadows, which was a random drop from any of the bosses.

For the most part, people are always going to cry because “wahh this guy has something and I’m not a valuble guild member and wont win pve items.”

Spoken as someone completely clueless. I am multi-glad in original TBC (can post with that char if you don’t believe me) and glaive rogues were really common on the higher ranks. A top skilled rogue is of course more formidable but glaives can carry you pretty far.

I play this game pretty casually these days and have no intention of going for glad again. That doesn’t mean I can’t complain about elements of the game that are clearly unhealthy, such as this.

I’ll also add I would be against any changes if it wasn’t for the fact they had already started banning things that were not banned in original TBC. If engi takes the hit, PvE items should clearly be next.

People back then were clueless and awful at the game though, so past experience doesnt rly matter. Players like Mir will get r1 with or w/o glaives easily today.

In my experience this is a great myth. Back then I could go outside both Orgrimmar and SW and find exceptional players from each class dueling eachother. Now outside of either it is pretty much a joke, this is true for any TBCC server pretty much.

You don’t need glaives for glad, but a rogue who has them has an unfair advantage over other rogues, or just players in general.
