Banned for Botting

It usually takes ~ 1 week or until you relog on the forums.

It’s legit, unfortunately.

As long as I’m back for 9.0.5 on Wednesday I’m not even mad. I guess I made this post hoping someone would tell me they’ve had false alarms before and resolve it but then again, banned people can’t post on the forum so there’s a bit of a logical fallacy there.

I am still confused about how this happened, I know people lie but I legit don’t do anything but spamming 3V3 and RBGs so not sure how Blizzard even thinks I’m using automated software.

Maybe I play DK so bad they think I’m a bot /feelsbadman

I’ll repeat myself - appeal!

This made me laugh pretty hard.

Make sure you appeal this ban if you’re sure it’s a false positive. There have been cases of people being banned for no reason, seen it plenty of times posted on the wow reddit.

Do you use any programmes on your computer, perhaps for work, that you may have left running whilst playing wow?

There have been false positives before but then again, Blizzard never say you have botted, they are far more vague.

I guess if it’s third party software you used external macro software.

Could also be a VPN connection.

I got banned once for the same kinda stuff as you, I was using a VPN because I lived in South Africa at the time and frankly I was ready to go as far as voodoo to lower my latency.

I explained this (minus the voodoo part) and they reverted it very quickly.

If you’re honest and theres no shenanigans they should revert it very quickly, chances are you got caught up in a wider thing incorrectly.

These things happen, i remember a few threads some years back of a bunch of players getting banned for stuff in RBGs because they blanket banned anyone that was suspicious and retroactively went back and undid the bans on the people that were innocent.

Maybe you had some program running that Blizzard detected as bot software in a blanket scan or something. These things happen in a lot of other games like people accidentally having cheatengine active in the background when they play a game even while not actively using it for that game but it’s still detected as third party software resulting in a ban.

If you genuinely haven’t botted just send a ticket and they’ll probably fix it.

nope never been banned.
check again what software is running on your PC.

Blizz don’t ban bots trust me i play Classic.

In case you haven’t figured it out, you appeal bans here:
https://eu.battle.net/support/en/help/product/wow/181/1609/solution

Discussing disciplinary actions is against code of conduct and the topic will be locked eventually.

pretty sure it’s against the rules to talk about your ban

I think appeal, if that is possible, I’m not sure how exactly customer services work. In case you cannot appeal for yourself, I’m sure you can do it through a friend (It works similar way on Steam if you loose account, you don’t really have any other choice in that case as far as I’m aware)

Customer support will know what to do. If you were cheating and I don’t think you were, they would know it. If you weren’t cheating there should hopefuly be no problem.

Good luck with your appeal !

I’m glad Activision-Blizzard is banning botters, finally, they’re doing something!

The traffic light one gets me, its like you need super vision to see that one a couple of miles off in the distance.

LOL in all seriousness you do realize these image CAPTCHAs have room for you to make minor errors like that.

I’ve not failed it, what I meant was it gets me how far off in the distance some of the lights are (coughs nervously)

Thank you for this. Gave me a real good laugh out loud moment!

do you by chance use any macros off game? like with a programmable keyboard?

if so then that might be it.
