The update/initializing part is getting ridiculous. I just waited 45 mins waiting for it, on an otherwise perfectly functioning internet connection.
I can understand there’s some kind of waiting for next expacs or major patches, but not every average wednesday. There are literally heaps of F2P games that provide better service then this
i just found a work around. shared my internet from mobile phone via tethering to my laptop and somehow that pushed it thought the loop in initialing stage stight into update. now i swapped it back to my normal wifi when it was lready downloading and its downloading normaly at max speed.
so who do i send invoice to for finding a fix that blizz team cannot fix for hours now ?
Can add my name to this growing list, has been ongoing for a week now, made another thread about it earlier today.
Have tried the VPN and tethering suggestions, still no change, stuck at initialising on battle.net but solely for WoW, did a test and downloaded the hearthstone client at my full 800Mbps possibly a routing issue in your CDN for the agent used for WoW?
This seems to be a problem across multiple games. I’ve got the same issue but with Diablo 4 at the moment.
It either gets completely stuck downloading with the current download speed or it drops down to a few KB/s
Tried all the fixes and even deleted all the bnet folders which in turn removed all my games so now I’m stuck downloading 85 gigs of game instead of the 8 gb patch
After being unable to patch for over a week I performed a WMI repository reset which fixed my issue instantly. Thankfully Blizz already have a support article for this! (pity it wasnt referenced anywhere I found the fix through other routes lol)
