Be honest, what do you do when

A question I’d like to add onto this is from my post here:

What do you do when you’ve been roleplaying with a group of people and then they start acknowledging the outlandish individual?

And if you ignore the individual, does it affect the roleplay when you are the ‘odd one out’ by being the one who isn’t roleplaying with the scene?

When its 1 on 1, its easy to ignore. But when it involves a group you are interacting with, it can be disheartening that you might be forced out because you don’t interact with such concepts.

I think the most common answer I’ll receive here is that people will leave for their sanity or because it gets awkward but still would want to know how others address it.

But isn’t the point of moonwalking that you don’t have to turn around?

Turn 360 and walk straight through their flesh-prison. Flaunt physics and transcend them.

Power move.

that would be my response yes because from personal experience it feels weird to be the one who isnt and awkward being left out for the sake of your sanity.

I think peer presure would win in most cases and you’d have to put up with the outlandish individual for the time being. It’s not ideal but it’s the path of least resistance all while preserving your relationships until this can be sorted out in private chats, your guild or group.

An individual with a stronger spine will immediatly say with (.) how this outlandish character clearly isn’t in line with the lore and invite others to ignore him… Results will vary obviously but the most I’ve experienced is a straight up freezing of the RP for people to be having OOC jousting between the pro’s and the con’s. It’s not a pleasant spectacle and will inevitably snowball the more people are around or passing by who feel like their two cents on the matter is needed.

If only people just didn’t RP outlandish concept… Would make everyone’s life much easier.

Very rich for OP to post this.

Not needed. Move on with your life.

Personally I just continue my RP with others, though depending on the concept, I may just muse them a little, though not get totally involved. I’ve been through that scenario in a sense, though with people i’d rather avoid for OOC reasons.

And yea, thanks for the answers, all!

I personally just interact with anybody, though depending on the concept will pretty much ignore whatever happens to my character if it’s too weird, like tryna kill my muse etc.

This hasn’t happened to me as yet, there have been “controversial” shall we say character concept choices in guild events, characters who act oddly, disregard personal space, and generally I treat them exactly as I would in real life, I initially humour them until I am away from their radius.

Then I forget about them

Personally I prefer people who can create and construct their own world and narrative within the bounds of Azeroth rather than being inhibited by Blizzard’s fairly bland writing and insistence on placing me, and every one else as a “saviour/hero”. I am lucky enough to be in a guild where we are inventive, creative, and spend a great deal of time discussing plot, concept and world-building.

Also to be fair, I am not a fan of lore that appears to be cannon that comes from an outside fiction source rather than the game. That’s just head-cannon aimed at a larger audience.

However, just my views. If you want to RP with me, I am happy to, just whisp me first as I have a child with special needs and I would hate for you to feel I was being rude. However you want to be someone I would avoid in all probability in real-life, then I’ll nod, smile and make my excuses and leave.

…I think I know who you’re on about, and on the one hand I’m disappointed to learn that.

On the other hand - I am not even remotely surprised. :pensive:

hol up. wait a second. HOL UP.

Oh sweet summer child. Blessed as you are to have avoided the horror of the caravan run by a mother of two. Blessed. Holy.

Don’t invoke that cretin, lest you get another string of vaguely ominous fan mail in-game.
