No! Bad Obahar! Hits you with
Anyway, to somewhat veer back to the original topic of the thread, I usually tend to just ignore such outlandish concepts. Mostly because I know it will be a waste of my time and I wil not have fun interacting with it. I prefer to atleast roleplay in Azeroth and stick to the rules of that sandbox ( Azeroth already is a big sandbox in regards to concepts that are viable).
I’ve heard people say to me “But Blizzard continues to make a mess of their own lore and retcons things all the time, so why shouldn’t I just do what I feel like?”
But to me, that just feels like a cop-out from the fact that you’re not alone on this server.
That and “Others do it, so I can/must do so aswell” has always been a terrible excuse.
Edit: I should add, if I see that someone truly is new on the server, and I have the feeling they’re willing to learn, I’m always happy to offer them a helping hand. I’ve done it a few times, and generally those few I helped were grateful.
my sole gripe with gw2 ranger is that it delivers so hard on the hunter fantasy i wish wow could, it just doesnt land the same with Longbow, the iconic hunter weapon. more than decent for sure but…it lacks something.
Personally, I don’t have an issue with Growth pods. Though of course there are it’s limits which characters should use the. (This is of course my opinion. If you’ve got a different one, kudos for you!)
I do however draw the line with character concepts from outside the game as stated in the Topic Start. A variant of a class from within the game is very fun to do, think about a combination of two classes.
I personally feel that growth pots are just too much. You’d be better off using Winterfall Firewater or Noggenfogger ( though, does that one enlarge or only shrink?). Also, pre-emptively ban all Drachtyr from using growth pots or this is what you end up with:
One of my greatest desires is to have growth pots deleted from the game. People are just taking it to ridiculous levels now with all the growth items…
Noggenfogger shrinks you down. Idk what’s the percentage but just between one or three stacks usually suffices to display height different compared to the race’s base model height without stepping into… Child RP seesaw levels.
Firewater and Noggenfogger are justifiable as they don’t look comically silly. There will always be the likes who want to turn it into an arm’s race of who’s the biggest or smollest and qwutest :3 (+3 psychic taken.)
This is purely based on personal experience up to Shadowlands but the biggest offenser ranked across the two factions.
Alliance :
- Worgen
- Human
- Draenei
- Night Elf
- Everybody else is varying degrees but usually have insignificant appearances compared to those four above, so I place the remaining races on the same tier.
Horde :
- Tauren
- Orcs
- Zandalari
- OG Trolls
- Goblins (Yes)
- And then everybody else, roughly the same number of appearances.
Honorable mention to Pandaren who among all those at the bottom of the list have most growth pot users alongside Illidari RPers.
It’s a little to see how uncommon it is among the Dracthyr RP scene to have this frequent sightings of growth pot usage.
This makes sense, Growth Pots give Tauren their original lore height(iirc), so I think Tauren can get away with using them!
Need a potion that makes characters wider instead of taller or shorter, to represent Shog’s peon parentage and broad shoulders.
Jokes aside, I honestly don’t care that much. I’m happy for other people to make their characters as big as they feel their characters should be, whether it’s for genuine IC reasons or egotistical reasons. Unless there’s a good reason for the size - playing as vrykul or half-ogres or what have you - I just treat their characters perfectly normally and don’t acknowledge the size.
Also, I get the feeling that this specific clique of dracthyr who frequent Lion’s Rest are probably responsible for the majority of dislike for growth pot users and dracthyr alike these days. Whenever there’s a complaint about either group, it always seem to be due to this particular bunch of players.
Before the Dracthyr it was the LFD, before the LFD Space Marines it was the Zandalari, before the Zandalari Prelates it was the Worgen, before the Worgen pack guilds it was the Draenei, before the Draenei Vindicator guilds it was the Trolls, before the Trolls Berserkers it was the Humans Vrykul wannabe.
Ashes upon ashes, cycles within cycles. There must always be an obnoxious group of growth pot user. The tool isn’t the issue but the people using it as usual.
They can’t. It looks stupid.
I still remember one growth pot tauren who semi-regularly visited Booty Bay who had to heroic leap just to get through the door.
Fun times.
Firewater then? I think those make the Tauren the size of the Thunder Totem City Guards?
Cells interlinked within cells interlinked within cells interlocked within cells interlinked.
Still not a fan personally.
Size can vary and I prefer player size. It’s less obnoxious, especially when it’s a tauren paladin in incredibly flash armour.
Tauren Paladins are not supposed to wear flashy armor!
Sunwalkers are not Human Paladins or Draenei Vindicators!
Someone needs to tell Dezco that the battlefield is not an appropriate place to bring your children.
Didn’t he bring his whole tribe though?
