Personally I’d say holy/disc priest. Reasons:

  • racial for 5% extra mana
  • healers are always struggling for mana in BfA
  • you may thus be the hero who who saves the raid when every other healer has faded

I struggle to see them as any strnegth-based class, agility+intelligence ones suit them better.

Anything cloth really. Don’t want anything heavy as it interferes with their natural flight ability aka gnome punting.

Were I to roll a gnome it’d have to be a warrior. Smallest possible fighter behind biggest possible shield.

I main a Gnome Rogue but have also had a Mage and a Hunter. We are Gnomes regardless of class we are cool at everything.

Hunter? Especially with a Mecha pet and a rifle.

Rogue? A lot of leather pieces can be “punky” or generally techy plus you can always turn invisible to no one can see your bad engineer transmog!

Warrior or Death Knight? A little tin suit! Maybe its mechanical? Maybe I am just strong? Who knows! How else am I able to tank hits from dragon 300x my size?

Mage? Aha! You thought I was an engineer but I was fueled by magic all along!

Realistically you can use goggles on any gnome, engi goggles are all good and can be used aslong as you have engineering leveled enough to equip it. as for armor that’ll be fixed soon when the gnomes get heritage armor, perks of hunter is mechanical pet.

Don’t forget you could also use parts of the new gnome heritage gear on any class, cloth, leather, mail or plate.

Hunters would be cool with their traps, guns, and mechanical pets. I saw a gnome hunter with a tamed mechnostrider from Gnomeregan and it looked pretty cool.

Rogues are pretty tricksy anyway, and adding gnome engineering to the mix is even cooler.

Warriors not so much, but as a protection warrior with a cool tech-shield and weapon that would be pretty ace.

Casters all work. Gnome casters are pretty much the norm back when their racials were very powerful in this role in classic.
