Great really

Goldshire lions pride inn is like the local malls saloon where ppl go sing karaoke but nobody really wants to hear that :dracthyr_hehe:

Sidenote but the scottish “accents” this expansion made turn off dialogue sounds.

Now you’ve made me want to go see what happens there…

Then how about you give your opinion or tell us why am I wrong?

Naah it’s much better to keep your usual contribution in this forum which is spiting on somebody else without actually bringing nothing to the topic, right?

It’s mainly Moira (The earthen don’t have accents, they just speak like robots). It kinda feels like they didn’t even attempt an accent, but they kept in the dialect.

Pretty much read this in your normal voice trying to be as a dead pan as possible:

“AWRICHT YA WEE RADGIES! WHA’S WANTIN’ A WEE BITTIE O THIS DWERVE’S WEE BIT OF RUMP BRISKET!! AYE YOU!! CMERE AND HAUD ME CLOSE AH’M FREEZIN CAULD HERE STAUNDIN NEKKID!”

I dont even hear the accents any more. I just shake my head when I hear their pathetic attempts and lines like

“If this is about the visions Im nae interested”

First time I heard that I said “Wow. Someone actually managed to be worse than Mel Gibson. Thats impressive”.

No scotsman would say “Im nae interested.” We just drop the “t” from not so it would be “Im no’ interested.”

Regional dialect would then come into play, gor example Id say “Ah’m no’ interestit”.

Nae is a dialect for “no”.

Such as “Aye nae bather pal”.
“Yes that’s no problem” or “that’s not a problem”.

But never “I’m nae interested”

I mean really. I’d do make dwarf voiceovers for free.

for science and exploration

In terms of Argent Dawn, I’d very much suggest asking in the realm forum’s “Pet Peeves” thread - basically general chat, despite its name.

Off the top my my head, I can name quite a few locations. Stromgarde, Boralus and Stormwind come to mind, but there are plenty other places in use for events and the like. Again, asking on the realm forum will get you a fairly accurate picture.

As for Goldshire, while indeed a busy place, I wouldn’t call it RP. It’s glorified smut and kink stuff with little bearing on what the role-playing majority on the realm would deign to call RP at all. My advice would be to avoid the place entirely, or at the least understand that it’s not what the majority of RPers on the realm partake in.

Happy trails!

I have no idea who you are but i guess you are mad about something sorry about that.

Intrest ya inna pint?

That’s pretty much what’s going. There is no accent and the VAs are just reading the lines verbatim. So the line normally should be “I cannot move”, someone In the writers room wrote it as “I cannae move” and the VA read is “cannaE”, you can clearly hear the E.

I mean if we speak of languages I think its pretty obvious why they dont do full foreign languages or accents into video game that is meant to be understood by other people aswell than just the Scotts. But like the draenei and so on they want to give it bit of something so they add these russian and scottish accents to some races, goblins sound as from new jersey for example but are they from new jersey? No, they are goblin from video game world of warcraft that is located in fantasy setting. I dont think they would be foolish enough to put characters speaking complete real Scottish or Irish for example that is not understandable for all in a video game, draenei has slavic accents but they speak english aswell instead of something spoken in slavic countries.

There is npc in shadowlands maldraxxus named as Tapani Nightwish, I could also demand he will speak Finnish, but it wouldnt make much sense if he did in a mmorpg where language is supposed to be understandable by many. They will use “fake” accent or put few word for fun there and there but they will never make fully widely non understandable language into wow that would vary from the English that is most understandable by most. This is pretty logical, but the game is also a story/fantasy, and could argue that the characters of the game are just the way they are supposed to be and not anything more or less based in real life if they would so wish to announce.

Yeah sure I bet you don’t remember me, it’s not like you replied and quoted me like 10 times in a row last week among various post with your usual aggressive tone and personal attacks which is the only thing you do in here.

Definitely not, must have been my imagination…

Search yourself the rest of posts if you want, I can’t be arsed.

See that’s very close but it would be “ye” not “ya”
