I don’t RP yet but if you actually played in AD, yes there are a lot of social people. The /2 is filled with chill and fun people.
There’s hardly that on any normal server, people there are just metaslaves for the most part with the gogo mentality.
If you want a chill place, AD is more than fine for that. Even if you don’t RP (but respect players doing it).

If by social you mean active chat, i’ve only seen people use the chat when zoning into an argent dawn shard through some random on lfg. Feels like going back 15 years in time whenever
.
Here’s hoping it won’t matter next expansion and you can just freely choose shard at some point with the realm barrier for guilds gone and all chars gathered on same login list…
It really does and it’s nice tbh.
It’s also not just the chat, people in general are more chill and approachable (like if you are curious and ask questions etc.). Something I had difficulties to witness during my time in Silvermoon and other “normal” servers.
I always think finding social guilds is so much harder than finding a raiding guild. I would prioritise finding a guild first then worry about what realm they are on.
It’s fairly simple to find a guild with the right kind or progress, aspirations as yourself but it’s a nightmare finding a nice social hub.
I personally don’t go on RP realms, they have enough issues with non RPers on there, they don’t need more IMO. I think RP is very creative, and I’m just not wired that way. We have so many regular realms to choose from. There are ofc, no rules against joining RP realms. There are extra rules for character names and you shouldn’t disrupt RP events.
Most big realms regardless of faction are worth investigating. I’m on the largest Horde realm, Draenor but since cross faction became a thing, we have a big mix of Alliance and Horde characters in guild. I’ve slowly been trying to reroll my Silvermoon characters onto Draenor too. Though with the changes coming in TWW this won’t matter much.
basicly find an rp realm. if i recall its sharded differently than normal servers and people actually still talk to eachother there.
If you play on a low pop normal server like me, chances are you wont see any human interaction out in the world unless you join one of the few active guilds on the server
Guilds now mainly serves the purpose of giving reduced HS time (for me)
communities are much better and there are a lot of social ones. Friendly servers do not exist.

In my experience Ravencrest has been pleasant. I’ve not had reason to look at moving elsewhere.
in retail I usually play on draenor horde or silvermoon ally but I wanted to ask the same question as you @sobreen so give me answer too
I did asked here and there also in game and people say argent dawn might be good for me so i think i will stick in it on horde and alliance

If you want a social game, wow is not a good game.
This games only good content is the difficult stuff and highly competitive. Rest of the content is rather neglected.
But welcome to hell
i’m not allowed to say AD if you don’t wanna RP…but if you happen to land there as a non-rper it’s quite nice.
forget peer pressure, break the mould, spread the love wherever you are, most people respond well to respect regardless of the realm
pretty horrible watching the world become more and more insular.

i met more ragers from AD than kazzak tbh…but not many alliance from kazzak ;o
in general there are no generalization about realms… especially now that everything is cross realm. you can have a toon on a german RP realm and just play with your ‘‘friends’’ (from community or discord or some other friend group)
Sounds like you’re from Kazzak and profile hidden , that’s kinda sus

There’s really no meaningful difference.
You’re just more likely to run into people from the bigger servers due to the number of players playing on them.
For example, I can’t remember the last time I saw someone from wildhammer.

I joined it and now im leveling hunter, but i will have to look for friendly guild, if you know some, suggestions are welcomed :3
I think if they decide to play hardcore they probably get more social interaction than in retail
Most chill people I got to know in the game are from Argent Dawn.

Agreed…
Retail is more like a browser game at this point
