BFA dungeons are hard for new players!

That’s why BFA dungeon were the best dungeon in current WoW in my opinion.
Though I agree, players that don’t have an interrupt available should not queue for these dungeons and should definitely not be as default dungeons.

Scaling is all over the place. You strangely get weaker every level as well. I levelled a healer last year some time and I could keep up fine, almost AFK it in the beginning but as I approached level 50 I couldn’t heal anything my spells were weak as wee.

First of all your topic is in wrong section. There is section about dungeons.
I made a topic about how BFA leveling dungeons are great because they are difficult.

But people like you want everything fast without effort.

The scaling is broken as many others already stated.

I think the last Dungeons I tried after Pre-patch were:

  • TBC.
From Level 56 to 60 on my BE Holy Paladin.

  • Shrine of Storm.
The same character, now at 60, gear iLV 229 all enchanted and gemed.
I replaced a Healer that had quit in Lord Stormsong. We wiped several times and had to get 2 new players (including a Tank) in order to finish it.
My character died all 3 times in Vol’zith the Wispherer, in the tentacles phase. Luckily by the 3rd attempt the group managed to kill the boss without me.

  • Tol Dagor.
Level 56 BE Fury Warrior, no Heirlooms just AH gear all enchanted and the best I could afford.
We wiped 2 times in the first boss, Tank quit and none came to replace him.
    The group disbanded afterwards.

  • Freehold.
I used the same character but now as Prot Warrior.
We kept wiping several times due to someone body pulling all the time after the bridge. Even in the last boss, someone managed to pull the group next to the boss. Luckily my character managed to get all the aggro, got killed, battle ressurrected and I managed to prevent a wipe.

  • Shrine of Storm (again)
I used the same character of Freehold.
I replaced a Tank that had quit.
We were at the stage of that NPC that heals all the time if left in the green circle and kills you if your character isn’t inside of it, when he begins to cast.
We had to move afterwards to the Tidesage Council. My character was fine but my party composed of cloth armour users were not. Always 2 to 4 players dying to the most simple pulls.

From that point on, every time I wanted to level up a character, I did it outside.
All of the characters I leveled, were around Level 56. All of them were leveled in WoD and Legion introduction. The exception was my Pandaren Monk. I leveled him in MoP.

I haven’t tried the DF dungeons yet.
I’m currently too busy leveling 25 characters to level 61 and get the best crafted gear they can get as I already had to fight a level 70 mob during Wrathion first chain quest, where you have to speak with 3 spies.

But from what I read on the Forums, it’s not a pleasant experience and I will only do them if my character (s) has the quest.

Cheers.

Absolutely right. Moving to new expansion with heroic/mythic geared characters level 60 makes you more OP than a flat quest level geared guy whether it be 60 - 70. the DPS/HPS/tankyness is magnitudes higher

I think one of the problem is that they get thrown straight into Freehold where some rushers just decide to skip all the bosses, and go a complicated root with alot more trash than usual.

All of that is true, but even if they did, BfA dungeons still introduce too many mechanics too quickly. And navigation is a mechanic too, in somewhere like Freehold or Atal’. I remember my first dungeon. I had NO idea what was going on, None. I didn’t know what a “boss” was, or a “tank”. (I learned that in my third or fourth.) What chance does a genuinely new player (not returner or FFXIV visitor) have figuring out how to navigate all the mechanics that BfA dungeons throw at them?

I wish they removed lvl squish… the “old” way to lvl up was much better and more fun. Not a steep curve. Your starting dungeons were deadmines or the one in ogrimar.
You actually progresed and felt you got stronger and better…

If ppl complain about it would take too long to lvl to 150 or whatever the equiviliant none squish would be then just put back xp bonus on heirlooms… like 300 %?

Maybe a solution would be a training course in various aspects of the game granting levels. Various topics like navigating the world, professions, dungeoneering, raiding, pvp. Basically a pick n mix course of the things you want so you can get you level 60 from a possible 100 points so you can avoid elements you dont like. It would be better then trudging thu old obsolete and bugged content. Hell leave the trudging in as an option for the masochists

I think they are trying to reduce queue times by grouping everyone from level 10 to 60 together in the same expansion (BFA).

I remember by the time when my Orc Warrior was at WoD dungeon (level 1-120 old system) my dungeon queue times were around 30 minutes at the end of the day (most people around my level were sleeping  by that time).

Also I read they wanted new players to start from BFA in order to understand what was happening in SL.

But I agree in terms of progression it was more immersive to start in Deadlines/Rage Fire Chasm and progressing from there to other expansions, dungeons, than to spend all your time in the same dungeons from BFA, from level 10 to 60

Cheers.

DO NOT level in bfa, go to chromie and level through wod. It’s faster, the dungeons quicker, and you get more xp bonus events.

Yea we’re talking about new players getting thrown into this genius. I agree for people who’ve done it before then “git gud” is a good enough response. And it doesn’t matter anyway because you can just switch chromie time. But for new players FORCED to do the hardest dungeons in the game… seems a bit off to me.
